The south central kansas economic development district, INC. (sckedd) is a kansas NON-profit corporation, an economic development district (EDD) and a certified development company (CDC). Sckedd's designation as a EDD is from the u.s. Department of commerce and the CDC designation is from the small business administration (SBA). Sckedd's service AREA covers 14 member counties in kansas. The resources available through sckedd consist of numerous loan programs under sckedd's decision-making supervision, as well as loan programs with which we work but do not make the final lending decision. Sckedd works with other development groups throughout the district to help new and existing businesses. Our resources also reach out to programs that assist our cities and counties with community improvement, housing, and urgent need. Sckedd has grants to assist low income persons in making their homes more energy efficient.
