About

United way of new YORK city (uwnyc) mobilizes communities, breaks DOWN barriers, and builds opportunities for low-income new yorkers for the benefit of ALL. We hold a vision for communities where individuals and families have access to quality education, equitable opportunities, and the resources they need to lead healthy and financially secure lives. Uwnyc serves approximately 1 million new YORK city residents struggling to make ENDS meet, as well as the agencies, organizations, partners, and institutions that serve them. We SIT at the nexus of the corporate, government, and NON-profit sectors, working closely with more than 300 corporations, 600 nonprofit organizations, city, state and federal agencies,20,000 individual donors and volunteers. We believe in opportunity and economic mobility. Our work responds to structural and systemic failures, including public policies and institutional practices designed to disadvantage communities of color for generations.
