When individuals experience traumatic hair loss, they should be met with the support & care they need. Our Wigs for Warriors Act with @RepVindman will bring much-deserved support to TRICARE beneficiaries with alopecia, undergoing chemo, & other hair loss conditions.
Proud to join Boston Children’s & Franciscan Children’s groundbreaking for their new children’s behavioral & rehabilitative care facility. This is what it looks like to invest in our kids' health & happiness. While this Admin traumatizes our children, our community is standing in the gap.
We should be using every tool available to protect our planet, our people, & our economy. One way we can do that is by stopping giant banks from financing fossil fuel projects. My Fossil Free Finance Act with @SenMarkey & @RepRashida would do just that.
"The most important thing isn't what's on your head, it's what's *in* your head." Thank you Quinta Brunson and @thesherylralph for shining a light and raising #Alopecia Awareness on Abbott Elementary https://t.co/CVM72UcRqU
José has labored in love building homes for folks across Massachusetts, but now his life & livelihood have been destabilized. Stories like his are why we're pushing the Trump Admin to extend TPS for El Salvador—to protect our neighbors who contribute so much to our communities.
Trump's targeting of @Ilhan & weaponization of the federal government is fascism, plain & simple. Just like his attacks on the press. Just like his abduction of immigrants. Just like his assault on our elections. He wants us in a state of fear. But we will NOT be silenced. https://t.co/Pcw7zJEUXk
As riders shared on the EZRide shuttle in Cambridge, fare-free transit makes life more accessible, affordable, & safe. MA fare-free transit systems have proven this is possible & essential. And it's why I’m fighting for national fare-free transit through our Freedom to Move Act.
Rep. Pressley, Sen. Markey Lead the Freedom to Move Act, Federal Legislation to Enact Fare-Free Transit & Close Transit Equity Gap Video from Media Avail (YouTube) | Photos (Dropbox) CAMBRIDGE – Today, Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley (MA-07) joined the Charles River Transportation Management Association, City of Cambridge, Cambridge Redevelopment Authority, local elected officials, and advocates for a roundtable discussion and ride on the EZRide shuttle—a fare-free shuttle service connecting Kendall Square, Cambridge neighborhoods, and North Station—to highlight the importance and success of fare-free transit. In Congress, Congresswoman Pressley co-leads the Freedom to Move Act alongside Senator Ed Markey, which would provide $25 billion in funding for transit agencies to offer fare-free service and improve on existing transit service offerings. “Fare free transit is essential and it is time we invest in public transit as the public good that it is—and that is proof positive by the success of the EZRide shuttle in Cambridge,” said Congresswoman Pressley. “As Massachusetts fare-free systems continue to prove and as riders shared with me today, fare-free transit makes life more accessible, affordable, and safe for workers and families across the country. That’s why I’m fighting for national fare-free transit through our Freedom to Move Act and I’m grateful to Charles River Transportation Management Association, City of Cambridge, Cambridge Redevelopment Authority, and community partners for making this a reality in the Massachusetts 7th.” “Charles River Transportation Management Association and EZRide appreciates the opportunity today to present the EZRide model for providing fare-free open to the public last mile circulation transit in the corridor between North Station and Eastern Cambridge since 2002. The City of Cambridge committed to climate goals while redeveloping its post-industrial economic corridor along the Charles River, creating a framework for collaboration amongst public and private stakeholders to create an efficient, frequent, affordable transit designed to meet the needs of the riders.” – Charles River Transportation Management Association “The Cambridge Redevelopment Authority is proud that the KSTEP Fund has been instrumental in launching the expansion of fare-free transit on the EZRide bus route,” said Tom Evans, Executive Director of the Cambridge Redevelopment Authority (CRA). “This type of creative public-private partnership is vital to improve access to the innovation hub of Kendall Square for employees, neighbors and visitors from around the region.” “EZRide has become a leading example of how fare-free public transportation can be successfully delivered through collaboration and creative funding partnerships,” said Cambridge City Manager Yi-An Huang. “By leveraging public investment alongside private and development-related contributions, the program has transformed individual commitments into broad community benefits. The result is a transportation service in Cambridge and Boston that expands opportunity, supports our climate goals, strengthens our economy, and demonstrates a scalable model for improving mobility for everyone.” Through the Kendall Square Transit Enhancement Program (KSTEP), administered by the Cambridge Redevelopment Authority (CRA) in partnership with the City of Cambridge and other public and private stakeholders, approximately $1 million has been committed to support the Charles River TMA, which operates EZRide, in delivering a two-year expansion of service and maintaining its fare-free operation. Photos from the event are available here and footage from the media availability following the event is available here. Congresswoman Pressley has long championed fare-free transit in Congress. In July 2025, Rep. Pressley and Senator Markey re-introduced the Freedom to Move Act which would provide $25 billion in funding for transit agencies to offer fare free service and improve on existing transit service offerings. The Freedom to Move Act would support state and local efforts to promote public transportation as a public good for all by: Establishing a $5 billion competitive grant program per year to support state and local efforts to implement fare-free public transportation systems; Investing in efforts to improve the safety and quality of public transportation services, particularly in low-income and historically underserved communities; and Ensuring grantees use funds to address and close equity gaps in current transit systems. In August 2026, Rep. Pressley and Sen. Markey released a new report detailing the success of fare-free transit in MA. The report, titled Making Transit Free, Frequent, and Reliable: Massachusetts shows the need for federal investment in fare-free transit, highlights the need for increased federal investments in fare-free transit. Rep. Pressley and Sen. Markey originally introduced the Freedom to Move Act in June 2020. Following the bill’s introduction, Senator Markey, Congresswoman Pressley, and then-Councilor Michelle Wu published an op-ed that discussed the bill and the need to fund public transportation as a public good. In July 2020, the House of Representatives passed the Moving Forward Act that included a fare-free pilot program modeled after the two lawmakers Freedom to Move Act. In March 2021, Senator Markey and Congresswoman Pressley reintroduced the Freedom to Move Act. In August 2022, Rep. Pressley and Senator Markey called on the MBTA to make the entire T fare-free for the duration of the Orange Line’s shutdown. ###
Trump's raid on @IlhanMN's home is part of his fascist, anti-freedom agenda. It's about terror and intimidation, and it's doing nothing to make us safe. https://t.co/OP5331AQ8s
This Indigenous People's Day, I'm thinking of the essential contributions of our Indigenous and Native American siblings to Massachusetts and our country. And I'm clear-eyed as ever about the work that remains to repair the generational harm and trauma inflicted throughout our history.
We stand with you @Ilhan. https://t.co/K232EsSCxd
Hey #MA7: Join members of my staff and @CBES_Connection for community office hours October 29th at 10am in Roxbury. Come learn about federal and local resources available and how we can support you. https://t.co/iYgUROzwdu
This is a gross abuse of power & the latest in a decade-long, racist smear campaign against a duly elected Black Congresswoman. Trump is a coward who is weaponizing his DOJ to fuel hate & intimidate his opponents with baseless attacks like these, just like he's doing with Rep. McIver, Lisa Cook, and Tish James. We stand with you @Ilhan.

We came here for love...and to fight for a more just, equitable America. https://t.co/2ewe6kQmTk
Grateful for another incredible week in the Massachusetts 7th engaging with constituents & supporting our communities! Swipe to see some of what I was up to this week ➡️ https://t.co/qOcxzJpMlK
What a joy to drop by our City Year cohort this week! I’m so grateful for everything City Year does to equip our young people with the knowledge and skills to succeed & dream. The work y’all do makes the #MA7 a better place–and I’m here to support you, too. https://t.co/ed3WvGpZBl
Maria, my constituent from Everett & mom of two young children, is being held by ICE without proper medical care. She has lived & worked here lawfully for a decade & would have had her charges dropped if ICE hadn't abducted & detained her across the country. We can't let Trump & ICE rip apart families and criminalize our immigrant neighbors without due process. I'll keep fighting for her release, to abolish ICE, and to hold this lawless Administration accountable.
A hill I’ll die on: Those closest to the pain deserve to be closest to the power. https://t.co/5G5Rw4aSFA
Thank you @ElMundoBoston for continuing the beautiful tradition that is the Hispanic Heritage Breakfast. It was a joy to celebrate the diversity of our Latino neighbors and meet hate and fear with community and solidarity. https://t.co/JPJARCngw3
Trump & the WWE Secretary have taken a sledgehammer to the Ed Dept. And our student loan borrowers are paying the consequences. This backlog should not exist. The Trump Administration must address it NOW and deliver borrowers the relief they deserve.
Proud to support our local businesses and visit community anchors across the #MA7 like Nuba Cafe! Always glad to visit and check in on how small businesses are doing and how I can provide support. https://t.co/ELwPE8Ur9a
As a child experiencing abuse, when I read Maya Angelou’s “I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings,” I knew for the first time that I was not alone in the world. So when we say “books save lives,” we mean it. That’s why I was so proud to introduce the Books Save Lives Act of 2026 — my bill to confront the rise of book bans in America, promote inclusive literature, and protect our freedom to read. This fight is about honoring the brilliance of Black and queer authors, educators, students, and librarians—and it’s a fight for education, democracy, and justice. Because from bans on our bodies to bans on our books, Trump and Republicans are stopping at nothing to rip away our fundamental freedoms, censor Black, queer and other marginalized authors, and deny us the right to learn and see ourselves reflected in our literature. Thank you to my colleagues and movement partners for your partnership on this legislation. Congress must pass our bill without delay.
Trump is trying to legitimize his unlawful, anti-Black smear campaign against Governor Lisa Cook. But we see this is for what it is. Trump must take his grubby little hands off the Federal Reserve and stop this brazen power grab.
A 5-year-old watched as ICE agents terrorized and shot his father. What type of President and country not only allows, but causes, our children to be traumatized? Hold rogue ICE agents accountable. End qualified immunity. Abolish ICE NOW.
