It’s the honor of a lifetime to serve the people of the 18th. I’m proud to have the @HoustonChron’s endorsement in this race and ready to keep fighting. https://t.co/UrMm4oW7UW
Prices keep rising, families are struggling, and Trump and Republicans act like everything is fine. They promised lower costs. Americans are fed up and don't deserve this nonsense.
What a day for Houston! Congratulations to @breadoflifehtx on the Knowles-Rowland House and their continued investment in our unhoused neighbors. Funds from the Biden administration helped make this happen, proof that our federal government should be investing in local organizations. I'm in awe of Pastors @DrRudyRasmus and @Pastor_Juanita. Their decades of service built a legacy Houston will carry for generations! And, of course, Houston is forever grateful that @Beyonce, @kellyrowland, and Ms. Tina Knowles keep pouring back into our city.

A vile abuse of power. Trump has attacked @Ilhan for years. Now he's using the federal government against a sitting member of Congress three weeks before an election. No president should weaponize the government against political enemies. This president has done so time and again, and the Republicans who control Congress just sit back and let it happen. I stand with Ilhan.

A live-streamed execution is sick. Trump took the party of “movies and video games are too violent for our kids” and turned it into the party of “we’re bringing an execution straight to your screens.” He and Pete Hegseth continue to disgrace their offices. Whatever you think of the death penalty, it shouldn’t be a public spectacle.
Proud to join Fort Bend County Sheriff Eric Fagan and Tax Assessor-Collector Carmen Turner for the 6th Annual Walter Moses Burton Breakfast. We honored Walter Moses Burton, Fort Bend County’s first Black sheriff and tax collector, who also served in the Texas Senate. His legacy reminds us why representation matters at every level of government. We must honor those who paved the way and keep opening doors for future generations.
The Trump administration and his circle are cartoonishly corrupt. We’ll will have our hands full with investigations come January.

Happy birthday, Ms. Opal Lee! 🎉 Juneteenth was born right here in Texas, in Galveston, on June 19, 1865. Ms. Opal spent decades making sure the rest of America knew the story of freedom that began in our state. Today, we celebrate the Grandmother of Juneteenth. https://t.co/MnjBUho6an
Had a great time celebrating National Night Out yesterday! National Night Out is all about bringing neighbors, law enforcement, and community leaders together to build stronger, safer communities. https://t.co/7ppJI25l0m
For years, this community has asked for a place where students could sing, dance, act, play, and create, a stage where their creativity can thrive. Congratulations to @AldineISD on breaking ground on the Education & Performing Arts Center (EdPAC)! Our students are our future, and we must continue investing in the spaces where they can learn, grow, and dream big.

HOUSTON, TX — Today, Congressman Christian D. Menefee (TX-18) announced that his casework team has closed more than 500 constituent cases since he took office. This milestone reflects eight months of delivering results for the people of Texas’s 18th Congressional District. After TX-18 went more than 330 days without representation in Congress, this accomplishment is a clear sign that our district is back to having a strong, responsive office working for the people. “Helping constituents navigate the bureaucracy of the federal government and alleviating their hardships is my top priority,” said Rep. Menefee. “We built this office from the ground up. Every call answered and every case closed is a step closer to delivering on the promise I made to the people of the 18th. From Veterans’ benefits to visa assistance, we’re going to keep showing up and helping folks get the help they need.” Since taking office, Congressman Menefee's team has: Closed more than 500 constituent cases out of the nearly 1,000 opened. Recovered more than $1 million in eligible and/or delayed funds for constituents. Successfully closed cases involving immigration, expedited passports, Veterans’ benefits, Social Security, Medicare, the Department of Education, the IRS, OPM, and the U.S. Postal Service. I joined @gcaflcio and IAM for the Houston Workers vs. Billionaires: Rally & Block Walk to let folks know what’s at stake this election. If we take back the United States House and the Senate, we can put Donald Trump’s radical and expensive agenda in check. We can rebuild momentum for pro-worker policies and lay the foundation to elect a champion for working people to the White House in 2028.
The deadline to register to vote in Texas is Monday, October 5th. Head to https://t.co/SNoDfKIASS to check your registration status or to find a registration form. https://t.co/GANgCOM6SE
59 years ago today, Thurgood Marshall was sworn in as the first Black justice on the United States Supreme Court. As a Black lawyer, his legacy means a lot to me. He paved the way for generations of us to walk into courtrooms, practice law, and use it to fight for our communities. Today, we honor a giant who opened doors for so many of us.
Silly season is in full swing. Ken Paxton is now blaming Talarico and AOC (??) for the rising cost of groceries, rent, and insurance in Texas. Republicans have controlled Texas for 30 years. They hold the White House, the Senate, and the House. They launched a trade war and an actual war, and they cut insurance premium subsidies. Voters aren’t stupid.
