Three years ago today, Hamas terrorists backed by Iran carried out the deadliest attack against Jewish people since the Holocaust. Over 1,200 innocent people, including Americans, were killed with over 250 taken hostage. As we remember the victims of October 7, we must never lose sight of who committed these atrocities. We remember those who were murdered, pray for their families, and continue to stand against terrorism, antisemitism, and the Iranian regime that has long supported Hamas.
For 50 years, the Hyde Amendment has protected the most vulnerable – the unborn – by ensuring taxpayer dollars are not used to fund abortions. The right to life is one of our three unalienable rights: Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness. I believe these rights extend to the unborn as our first God-given right, and have fought in Congress to protect longstanding Hyde protections to uphold the sanctity of life.
Today, on National POW/MIA Recognition Day, we honor the brave Americans who were held as prisoners of war and remember those who remain missing in action. In defending our freedoms, they faced unimaginable hardships and some sacrificed all on behalf of our nation. We owe these heroes a debt we can never repay. Their service will never be forgotten.
Happy birthday to the @usairforce! For 79 years, America’s Airmen answered the call to serve and defended our nation from the skies. Today, we honor all who have served in the Air Force, and remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our freedoms.
239 years ago today, 39 delegates signed the United States Constitution at Independence Hall in Philadelphia. Our founders established the framework for a government that remains the greatest experiment in self-governance the world has ever known. This Constitution Day, we remember that this document is not just an artifact of history but a guarantor of our God-given rights. As your representative, I will always fight to defend the Constitution and the freedoms it secures for the American people.
Praise the Lord! This is great news Susie.
Today marks the 25th anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks, a day that forever changed our nation and one that we will never forget. We remember the 2,977 lives that were taken at the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and near Shanksville, Pennsylvania. Though the terrorist attacks sought to divide our country, they instead awoke the courage, resilience, and relentless spirit of the American people. We remember the selfless first responders who sacrificed their lives to save others, the brave passengers aboard Flight 93, our servicemembers who answered the call to defend our nation, and the countless Americans who came together in the face of tragedy. As we mark the 25th anniversary of 9/11, we must never forget those we lost or the sacrifices made in the days and years that followed. To every veteran and first responder, thank you for your service to our country, communities, our freedoms, and our way of life. A grateful nation thanks you. May God bless the victims and their families, our first responders and servicemembers, and may God continue to bless the United States of America.
This morning, I joined the Clermont Police Department, Clermont Fire Department, and members of our community to honor the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and to remember the extraordinary courage of our first responders. 25 years later, we will never forget. https://t.co/jE81crRFbk
One year ago today, Charlie Kirk’s life was taken far too soon. Charlie loved our country, was unashamed of his faith in Jesus Christ, and dedicated his life to encouraging the next generation of Americans to engage in the public square. His conviction and commitment to the principles he believed in leave a lasting impact on countless Americans. Sandy and I continue to pray for Charlie’s family and loved ones. May God comfort all who mourn Charlie’s loss and may we each seek to serve others with kindness, conviction, and humility.
Critical minerals are essential to America’s future, yet for too long leftist demands and liberal bureaucrats have caused permitting delays that left us dependent on foreign adversaries like China for the resources that power our economy, strengthen our military, and fuel American innovation. We can both protect the environment and responsibly mine. That’s why I voted to pass the Protecting Domestic Mining Act. This commonsense legislation streamlines the permitting process for domestic mining and mineral projects, helping secure critical mineral supply chains, strengthen American manufacturing, and create jobs here at home.
81 years ago today, World War II came to an end as Japan’s unconditional surrender was signed on the USS Missouri. Today, we remember the more than 16 million Americans who served during World War II and honor those who gave their lives defending our way of life and defeating tyranny. Their courage and sacrifice preserved freedom and changed the course of history. We owe them a debt we can never repay.
Today, I voted to condemn socialism in all its forms. Throughout history, socialist regimes have concentrated government power at the expense of individual liberty. The United States was founded on a different premise, that our rights come from God, not the government. While radical socialists seek to abolish our Constitution, seize American businesses, and consolidate power in government, my @HouseGOP colleagues and I reject their failed ideology and reaffirm the principles of freedom, opportunity, and limited government that have made America the greatest nation on earth.
My longtime friend @CareyBaker097 ran hard and well, and the voters of FL-11 have spoken. Congratulations @VoteStrada! I’m confident that my constituents will continue to be well served. Now we must ensure that in November FL Republicans maintain our strong majority!
Congrats to my friends Lake County Commissioners Leslie Campione and Sean Parks on their reelections! Thrilled for Lake County to continue to have your servant leadership.
Congrats @ByronDonalds! On to November!
Thank you to the cities of Groveland and Mascotte for this special recognition. I ran for office because I wanted to change public policy and protect our freedoms and values. It has been an honor and privilege to serve the people of Central Florida. To have been part of the development and passage of some most significant legislation in our time is something I will forever treasure. https://t.co/zhvzUBFcAI
Today we celebrate 236 years of the United States Coast Guard and the brave men and women who serve to protect our nation’s shores, waterways, and maritime interests. Whether responding to disasters, saving lives at sea, or defending our maritime borders, they answer the call to keep our country safe. As a member of the @TransportGOP, I’ve worked to ensure the @USCG has the tools and resources necessary to carry out its missions.
President @realDonaldTrump and @SecDuffy's plan to renovate Washington Dulles International Airport is a great example of how we can rebuild America's infrastructure without asking Americans to shoulder the burden. I have legislation that establishes the Federal Infrastructure Finance Corporation. This commonsense solution would leverage private investment rather than taxpayer dollars to fund projects just like this - and many more - across the country.
For 68 years, @NASA has inspired Americans to pursue what once seemed impossible. From Mercury, Gemini, and Apollo to Artemis, NASA and Florida share a rich history. As a member of @housescience, I’m committed to ensuring America remains the world's leader in space exploration. https://t.co/9h3D0v8zsI
Today, on National Korean War Veterans Armistice Day, we honor the brave Americans who served in the Korean War. Though too often referred to as the “Forgotten War”, we must never forget the men and women who answered our nation’s call, nor forget those who made the ultimate sacrifice. We owe them a debt we can never repay.
Washington, D.C. — Today, Florida Congressman Daniel Webster, R-Clermont, voted to pass H.R. 8800, the FY 27 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), legislation that strengthens America’s military, supports our servicemembers, and restores military readiness. “Today, I voted to pass the FY27 National Defense Authorization Act to ensure America’s military remains the most lethal fighting force in the world,” said Rep. Webster. “This legislation fulfills Congress’ constitutional responsibility to provide for our common defense by supporting the men and women who serve our country, and investing in the capabilities needed to deter our adversaries and respond to threats.” The FY27 NDAA strengthens America’s military by rebuilding the defense industrial base, investing in servicemembers and their families, restoring accountability, and providing our Armed Forces with the resources needed to counter adversaries around the world. This legislation advances President Trump’s Peace Through Strength agenda by codifying 22 executive orders and implementing over 40 proposals to ensure America’s military remains equipped and focused on its core missions. The FY27 NDAA: Provides a 5–7% pay raise and strengthens benefits for servicemembers and military families. Fully funds Department of War support for the Department of Homeland Security's border security mission. Advances President Trump's Peace Through Strength agenda by funding Golden Dome, expanding shipbuilding, strengthening nuclear deterrence, and modernizing our Armed Forces. Authorizes nearly $220 billion for next-generation capabilities, including artificial intelligence, autonomous systems, hypersonics, space-based capabilities, and other emerging technologies. Cuts nearly $30 billion by eliminating waste, fraud, and abuse while strengthening oversight and accountability. Restores the military's focus on lethality by ending radical DEI programs and refocusing the Department of War on its core mission. ###
I just voted to pass the FY27 National Defense Authorization Act to strengthen America’s military, support our servicemembers, and restore military readiness. This legislation fulfills Congress’s constitutional responsibility to provide for the common defense by investing our warfighters, advancing @POTUS's Peace Through Strength agenda, and ensuring our nation’s military remains the most lethal fighting force in the world.
Washington, D.C. — Florida Congressman Daniel Webster, R-Clermont, released the following statement after voting to pass H.R. 9770, the Continuing Appropriations Act, 2027, legislation that fully funds the federal government through December 4, 2026. “Today, I voted to pass legislation to keep the government funded at current levels and provide certainty for the American people. While I generally oppose funding the government through continuing resolutions, allowing Democrats to shut down the government would only create instability for hardworking Americans. House Republicans have acted early by advancing all twelve appropriations bills from committee and it is shameful that Democrats in the Senate have forced delays solely for political purposes.” ###
Washington, D.C. — Florida Congressman Daniel Webster, R-Clermont, released the following statement after voting to pass H.R. 8595, the Fiscal year 2027 National Security, Department of State, and Related Programs Appropriations Act. “This legislation rejects the Washington presumption that nothing can be cut from the budget in order to fund our nation’s priorities without increasing the deficit,” said Rep. Webster. “Through regular order, we are advancing America First policies that strengthen our national security, support key allies, confront our adversaries, and eliminate wasteful spending on programs that do not serve America’s interests. While there is more work to be done to restore fiscal discipline, this bill is an important step toward ensuring our national security and foreign policy priorities are accountable to the American people.” The FY27 National Security and Department of State Appropriations Act restores fiscal responsibility by reducing spending by six percent while ensuring the United States continues to invest in our core national security priorities. The bill advances America’s national security and economic interests, reinforces oversight of foreign aid programs, eliminates spending on wasteful programs, and ensures taxpayer dollars are used to benefit American security. Key provisions include: Reduces spending by 6% below the previously enacted level. Ensures foreign assistance advances America’s national interests Supports key allies like Israel and Taiwan. Funds efforts to counter Chinese influence in the Indo-Pacific. Strengthens President Trump’s efforts to combat fentanyl trafficking and transnational crime. Preserves longstanding pro-life protections. Blocks funding for DEI, climate mandates, and radical gender ideology. Prohibits funding for UNRWA, UNFPA, and the Taliban. Enhances oversight and accountability for taxpayer funded foreign assistance. ###
Today I voted to pass the FY27 National Security and Department of State Appropriations Act, which rejects the Washington presumption that nothing can be cut from the budget in order to fund our priorities. This legislation puts America first, strengthens our national security, cuts wasteful spending, and ensures taxpayer dollars are spent on our nation’s priorities.
