What a weekend in Ohio! A massive thank you to President Trump for spending time in our state and hosting an incredible rally. I’m truly honored to have spent time with the President over the weekend and to experience traveling on Air Force One. Seeing his passion and vision up close was incredible, and sharing those conversations made for a trip I'll cherish forever. Thank you, Mr. President, for an unforgettable weekend and for always standing up for Ohio! 🇺🇸 #Ohio #Ohio02 #Rally #VoteRed #getoutandvote
Google Translate can’t read the road signs for you or prevent a crash. Unqualified CDL drivers continue to endanger Americans on the roads, and it’s time to put a stop to it. As a member of @TransportGOP, I will continue pushing to uphold CDL standards, hold illegal aliens accountable, and restore safety to the roads Buckeye families drive on. https://t.co/ygj9Zi6hKX
The Buckeye State has long been a manufacturing powerhouse thanks to the hardworking men and women who keep our nation’s industries moving forward. With nearly 700,000 manufacturing jobs ranging from steel, to cars, to advanced technologies, Ohio is making the things our nation depends on. On National Manufacturing Day, we celebrate the many skilled workers, innovators, and manufacturers who are strengthening our economy and keeping America a manufacturing leader!
Two weeks ago, my colleagues and I sent a letter to @CAgovernor Gavin Newsom demanding answers after an illegal alien with a California-issued CDL caused a crash that killed an innocent woman in southern Ohio. Still no response. Ohioans deserve answers. I will continue pushing for accountability from Governor Newsom and his administration until we get them.
I’m proud to introduce the Integrity for Taxpayers Act to hold fraudsters accountable in our federal healthcare systems, protect taxpayer dollars, and restore integrity to the services that Americans rely on. Thank you to @RepMichaelRulli @RepChuck @RepRWilliams for joining me to ensure taxpayer dollars go toward the patient care they were intended for, not into the pockets of fraudsters chasing a quick payday.
WASHINGTON, DC – Representatives Dave Taylor (OH-02), Michael Rulli (OH-06), Chuck Fleischman (TN-03), and Roger Williams (TX-25) today introduced the Integrity for Taxpayers Act, which would hold bad actors accountable for misconduct within federal healthcare systems, protect taxpayer dollars, and restore integrity to the systems and services that Americans rely on. “Taxpayer dollars funding federal healthcare programs are designed to serve vulnerable Americans who depend on them, not pad the pockets of fraudsters chasing a quick payday,” said Representative Dave Taylor. “I am proud to lead the effort to root out waste, fraud, and abuse from our federal healthcare systems and hold bad actors accountable who are rigging the system for their own personal gain. In Congress, I will continue working to catch fraudsters in the act and restore integrity to the services that Buckeye families depend on.” “Hardworking Americans should not have to foot the bill for fraudsters abusing our federal healthcare programs. The Integrity for Taxpayers Act closes a loophole that allows bad actors to slip through the cracks and strengthens HHS-OIG’s ability to protect taxpayer dollars. We must root out waste, fraud, and abuse wherever it exists,” said Representative Michael Rulli. "If you break the rules and cheat hardworking Americans, you shouldn’t get a free pass just because you’ve left the job. The Integrity for Taxpayers Act closes that loophole and gives HHS the ability to go after these fraudsters. We’re making it clear: if you cheat the system, you'll face consequences,” said Representative Chuck Fleischmann. “Hardworking Americans deserve to know that their taxpayer dollars are being protected from waste, fraud, and abuse. When bad actors take advantage of federal programs, they must be held accountable," said Representative Roger Williams. "The Integrity for Taxpayers Act closes a loophole that allows individuals to escape responsibility simply by leaving their position. This bill strengthens the ability of the Office of Inspector General of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to hold bad actors accountable and protect taxpayer dollars.” “America’s seniors have spent a lifetime paying into the programs they rely on, and they deserve to know that their hard-earned tax dollars are being protected. The Integrity for Taxpayers Act would strengthen the government’s ability to hold accountable individuals who seek to profit improperly from federal health care programs and help close a loophole that can allow bad actors to escape scrutiny. By giving HHS-OIG greater ability to protect Medicare and other federal health care dollars from waste, fraud, and abuse, this legislation can help ensure that more of these precious resources are available for the seniors and other vulnerable Americans who depend on them. The 60 Plus Association is proud to support Congressman Taylor’s efforts that promote accountability, protect taxpayers, and safeguard the integrity of our nation’s health care programs,” said President Saul Anuzis of the 60 Plus Association. "With our national debt now exceeding $40 trillion, protecting every taxpayer dollar and cracking down on fraud is more important than ever. Thankfully, Congressman Taylor’s Integrity for Taxpayers Act takes an important step toward that goal by closing a loophole in federal law that allows bad actors to abuse federal health care programs. NTU is proud to support this legislation and looks forward to working with Congressman Taylor to advance this pro-taxpayer bill and see it reach President Trump’s desk," said Thomas Aiello, Vice President of Federal Affairs at National Taxpayers Union. Background: Under current law, the Office of Inspector General at the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS-OIG) has the authority to exclude individuals and entities that have committed misconduct (such as licensed healthcare practitioners, administrators, hospitals, pharmacies, or third-party vendors) from participating in federal healthcare programs. However, a loophole states that HHS-OIG exclusions can generally only be enforced upon a bad actor in the role in which they committed the misconduct, meaning they can evade the consequences by moving on to a different role. This allows these fraudsters to evade accountability, limiting the ability of HHS-OIG to enforce consequences and ensure taxpayer dollars are used properly. The Integrity for Taxpayers Act would give HHS-OIG the authority needed to enforce exclusions from participation in federal healthcare systems, hold fraudsters accountable, and safeguard taxpayer dollars. The 60 Plus Association and the National Taxpayers Union are supporting organizations of this bill. The full bill text for the Integrity for Taxpayer Act is available here. ###
Once again, Senate Democrats sided against the American people by failing to pass the Ratepayer Protection Act. House Republicans proudly passed it to keep energy costs low for American families, but Senate Democrats struck it down. It’s clear who really cares about the pocketbooks of working Americans.
Charity and I were recently welcomed at the Operating Engineers Local 18 Training Center in Logan, Ohio, and she participated in SHE DIG! It was great to see women gaining hands-on experience, learning about opportunities in the skilled trades, and discovering the career paths available in the construction and operating engineers industry. Thank you to the Operating Engineers Local 18, Brent McCarthy, and Richard Grooves for the warm welcome and for investing in the next generation of skilled workers right here in Southeast Ohio. We appreciate all you do to create opportunities and strengthen our local workforce!
I was pleased to congratulate the Adams County Welcome Center at Adams Lake State Park on their grand opening! This Welcome Center is an important investment in the county’s tourism industry and will help showcase all that our community has to offer. Executive Director Tom Cross and his team are committed to promoting the many local attractions, businesses, and recreational activities right here in our own backyard. There’s never been a better time to visit Adams County!
Offering nearly 3,000 acres of forested hills, scenic trails, and a 120-acre lake, Lake Hope State Park is right in the heart of the beautiful Zaleski State Forest. Charity and I recently stopped by the Lake Hope Dining Lodge for a delicious lunch and outstanding views of the Appalachian hills! This park preserves Southeast Ohio’s iron-making heritage, including the historic Hope Furnace, which once helped fuel our region’s iron industry. As proud Ohioans, it’s a pleasure celebrating the incredible beauty and history right here in OH-02!
When you’re in Logan, you celebrate the people and small businesses that make this community so special! 🇺🇸 Congratulations to M&M Diner on 20 years of serving up great home-style cooking! It was a pleasure stopping by to present them with a Congressional Commendation and recognize this milestone. I also said hello to the team at The Home Tavern, who has brought together Logan residents for 40 years over a good meal. A special shoutout to Chuck and Nancy Hopkins on four decades of making The Home Tavern part of our Logan community. Small businesses like these two are the heart of OH-02, and it’s a privilege to celebrate their success and the people behind them. Here’s to many more years of serving Buckeye families!
What a fantastic day in Brown County! I had an absolute blast marching in the parade alongside my parents, State Representatives Adam Bird and Justin Pizzulli, and an incredible group of dedicated supporters and volunteers. Events like this are a great reminder of what makes our region so special—it's all about faith, family, and strong community. I want to extend a huge thank you to the amazing Brown County community and every single volunteer who worked behind the scenes to make both the parade and the county fair possible. Organizing an event of this size takes endless hard work and dedication, and our volunteers truly knocked it out of the park. Thank you to everyone who lined the streets, waved, and cheered us on throughout the day. It was great catching up with old friends and making new ones! #Ohio #ohio02 #BrownCountyOhio #parade #community
I was honored to join leaders from @OpenAI, SB Energy, and our community today for a conversation about the PORTS-Pike project and the impact it will have in our region. We talked about what’s next for the project, how important regional workforce development is, and the strong partnerships that are making our community stronger. I look forward to continuing to have collaborative conversations with local leaders, workforce partners, and companies working to create new opportunities in southern Ohio!
It was my honor to meet with Mrs. Pauline Carson, a Portsmouth resident, who is celebrating her 105th birthday! Reaching 105 years is an incredible milestone, and it was a privilege to spend time with her and hear a little about her remarkable life and the history she has witnessed throughout the years. Please join me in wishing Mrs. Carson a very Happy 105th Birthday!
Today and every day, we honor the Gold Star Mothers and Families who will forever have an empty seat at their dinner table and in their hearts. There is no higher honor than laying down one’s life in service to our country, and we are forever indebted to the American heroes who defended the freedoms we hold so dear. They will never be forgotten 🇺🇸
Charity and I were proud to join the Jackson Apple Festival parade and celebrate one of Southern Ohio’s great traditions with the people of OH02! It was wonderful to see so many familiar faces, visit with friends and neighbors, and enjoy the incredible community spirit that made the 85th annual Jackson Apple Festival so special. We were also glad to be joined by Vivek Ramaswamy as we celebrated in Jackson County with Team Taylor and the people who make this community such a great place to call home. Honored to earn the endorsement of @USChamber ! 🇺🇸 Small businesses and local entrepreneurs are the foundation of our community. I’m proud to stand with the American business community to champion lower taxes, pro-growth policies, and good-paying jobs for our district. Let's keep moving forward!
This week, I had the opportunity to tour and survey the damage caused by the recent flooding in Hocking and Vinton County. Seeing the impact firsthand and hearing directly from residents and local officials is an important part of understanding what our communities are facing. Our neighbors have been through a lot, and recovery will take time. I’m grateful for the first responders, local officials, volunteers, and everyone working around the clock to help their communities recover and rebuild. My office will continue working with local, state, and federal partners to make sure the needs of OH-02 communities are heard and that we do everything we can to help during the recovery. We are here, we are listening, and we will continue to stand with each of you.
I was honored to participate in opening ceremonies of the 2026 Jackson Apple Festival earlier this week! 🍏 Thank you to JAFE for putting on such a great event that brought our community together. https://t.co/k992hltckZ
