A “Diverging Diamond” is coming to IL-17! Soon, there will be no crossing traffic at the interchange of I-74 and John Deere Road. Instead, a more seamless flow of traffic that will keep us moving forward. Team Sorensen was on hand for the official groundbreaking ceremony that will put hundreds of people to work and improve the commute for thousands of Quad Citizens. Thank you to @IDOT_Illinois for investing in #IL17!

Team Sorensen was happy to attend a ribbon cutting ceremony for the Illinois Army National Guard’s new Field Maintenance Shop in Bloomington! Grateful to all our partners who helped make this project happen. And as a member of @HASCDemocrats, I’ll continue fighting for the support all our National Guardsmen deserve.

Today is #NationalComingOutDay, a time to celebrate and embrace our LGBTQ+ friends, neighbors and loved ones. Whether this is your 30th year celebrating, or maybe you're still not ready: know you are seen, heard and loved. Being one of only 13 present Members of Congress who have personally celebrated this day is an honor. 🏳️‍🌈

Mike Ditka was Chicago football. Tough, loud and fiercely loyal to this city and this team. He gave this young Bears fan the ‘85 championship and set a standard we’ve been chasing ever since. Rest in peace, Coach. Thinking of his family and all of Bears Nation. 🐻⬇️ https://t.co/ioqFoeKSg9

As a Meteorologist, I know that disasters don’t discriminate blue states versus red states. The purpose of a disaster declaration is to help families pick up the pieces and start on the path toward rebuilding their lives, and the mere idea that the Trump administration would play games with this is ridiculous. I will keep fighting for the full recovery our families deserve.

This Hispanic Heritage Month, I’m proud to recognize and celebrate the incredible history, rich culture, and ongoing contributions of the Hispanic community in America. At a time when so many seek to divide us and turn neighbor against neighbor—I hope we can take this time to embrace one another with open arms and move forward towards a brighter future for all.

Today marks three years since the deadly terrorist attacks in Israel. In honor of those who lost their lives, we must recommit ourselves to the cause of peace for all people and ensure everyone has the basic health and security they need and deserve.

High costs aren't only hurting our families, they're also squeezing local small businesses like Supermercado Monarca in East Moline. Proud to stand beside Saul and his incredible team to discuss my work to lower costs and provide the relief our neighbors need and deserve. https://t.co/mCmbrUGCts

As a member of @hascdemocrats, one of my top priorities is supporting National Guardsmen around the country—to ensure they always have the tools and resources they need to complete their critical missions. Thank you for all you do!

Illinois Central College is one of Peoria’s crown jewels, setting our young people on paths to fulfilling, successful careers right here in Central Illinois. It was a joy to tour their health sciences department and get an update on their incredible work (and get a quick check-up while I was at it!) Thanks for having me!

Glad to help break ground on Peoria Heights’ new water filtration plant. Clean water is one of those things nobody thinks about until it’s gone, and I’m happy I could help bring federal funding home so this community has safe drinking water for the next 100 years. https://t.co/nCW7r7S5rJ

Awesome to be the first person to use the new EV fast-chargers at the East Moline Public Library. Proud to drive my UAW, American-made Chevy Bolt and it’s so important to bring charging access to everyone, regardless if they have the ability to charge at home. Thank you @Metrolink, the State of Illinois, and the City of EM in getting this done!
