I am proud to be endorsed by Indiana Farm Bureau AgELECT PAC! Indiana’s 9th Congressional District is home to some of America’s finest farmers and I am committed to ensuring that they continue to succeed. I’ll keep fighting to expand rural broadband, support the Farm Bill, and secure nationwide, year-round E-15. https://t.co/VxDEGRgg56

Cybersecurity threats are challenging hospitals more than ever. My Rural Hospital Cybersecurity Enhancement Act will give rural providers the training and resources they need to respond to cyberattacks and continue serving their communities. Whether it’s strengthening rural hospitals, expanding broadband access, or cutting burdensome regulations, I’m focused on using my work on @HouseCommerce to deliver real results for Southern Indiana.

I’m running for re-election to clean up Washington, ban stock trading by members of Congress, keep boys out of girls’ sports, and to keep cutting taxes, investing in our communities, and standing up for the issues that matter most to Hoosiers. https://t.co/BHhFCYpUuL

It was an honor to join veterans and their families in Dearborn County and to celebrate the 100 1/2 birthday with WW2 Veteran George Klopp Sr! I told him I’ll be back to celebrate his 101st. Proud to know this living legend and patriot! Our freedom is possible because of patriots, like George, who answered the call to serve our country. Thank you!

Happy 251st Birthday, U.S. Navy! On October 13, 1775, the Continental Congress authorized a few armed vessels to intercept British supply ships. That small step launched a force that now stands watch on every ocean. My late grandfather kept Navy aircraft flying as a mechanic at NAS Corpus Christi during World War II. To every sailor past and present, and to the families who serve alongside them: thank you for answering the call to protect and defend. Anchors aweigh! ⚓

Today, we honor Christopher Columbus and the courage, determination, and spirit of exploration that have shaped our nation’s history. 🇺🇸 From the earliest explorers and the westward-bound pioneers to the astronauts and scientists who continue to push boundaries, America has always been driven by a sense of adventure and discovery.

A little over a year ago, Dean reached out to my office for help. When he shared in passing that he had lost his military medals, we got to work! My staff submitted his paperwork to the National Personnel Record Center, and this month, we were honored to present Dean with his replacement medals. Thank you, Dean, for your service and sacrifice to our nation!🇺🇸

I agree with Chair @RepWesterman. Americans need more power and lower energy bills. The Senate's bill sets clear permitting deadlines, curbs endless litigation, and speeds up transmission and new generation. It's time to build. #PermittingReform

Indiana is proving what works in literacy, and the results speak for themselves. The Science of Reading is helping deliver better outcomes for students, and we should ensure federal dollars support proven methods that help our children learn to read. https://t.co/Rn4sY95xtn

Thank you to @NFIB for the endorsement! I’m proud to stand with Indiana’s small businesses and support policies that help Main Street. The best way government can support our local economy is by cutting regulations, removing barriers, and giving entrepreneurs the freedom to grow.

Reps. Houchin and Brownley Introduce National Learning Disabilities Awareness Month Resolution

October 8, 2026 WASHINGTON—Congresswoman Erin Houchin (IN-09) and Congresswoman Julia Brownley (CA-26) introduced a resolution recognizing October 2026 as National Learning Disabilities Awareness Month. Observed annually in October, National Learning Disabilities Awareness Month raises public awareness of learning disabilities, promotes early and accurate diagnoses, and highlights the importance of ensuring individuals have access to the resources, tools, and support they need to succeed in school, the workplace, and their communities. “Students with learning disabilities too often fall through the cracks of our education system. That’s why I am proud to recognize National Learning Disabilities Awareness Month alongside Congresswoman Brownley,” said Rep. Houchin. “Every child deserves the opportunity to succeed, and that starts with identifying learning disabilities as early as possible. This year, I introduced the New IDEA Act, which would clarify the pathways for schools to identify and provide accommodations for students with specific learning disabilities, and help students receive the instruction they need.” “Having a learning disability should never stand in the way of a person’s ability to pursue their goals and achieve success,” said Rep. Brownley. “I began my career in public service to ensure that individuals like my daughter, who has dyslexia, have access to the resources and tools that empower them to learn and grow with confidence. I am grateful for Congresswoman Houchin’s partnership in recognizing National Learning Disabilities Awareness Month as we work to foster positive and supportive learning environments and improve learning outcomes and lived experiences for people with learning disabilities.” The full text of the resolution can be found here.

I always appreciate the opportunity to sit down with members of the Dearborn County Chamber of Commerce to discuss the issues of the day. We recently met for a roundtable discussion on the Working Families Tax Cuts, passed by @HouseGOP last year. As a mother and former small business owner, I understand the challenges facing families and businesses in Southern Indiana. Hearing directly from the leaders who are creating jobs, growing businesses, and improving our communities is one of the things I value most about representing the 9th District. Thank you to the Dearborn County Chamber for sharing your experiences, ideas, and perspectives. I’m proud to bring your valuable insight back to Washington as we work together to find solutions and keep Southern Indiana strong.

Bloomington Regional Rehabilitation Hospital plays a vital role in our community as both an employer and healthcare provider, serving approximately 1,000 Indiana residents each year. I enjoyed the opportunity to see how their advanced treatment options, like the Rise and Walk technology, are improving patient outcomes. Thank you to the Bloomington Regional team for your life changing work!

Recently, I spoke to the Manufactured Housing Institute about my Affordable HOMES Act, which cuts an energy efficiency regulation that was driving up the cost of housing. I was pleased to work with the MHI on the legislation and to update them on our progress. We must remove unnecessary regulations on manufactured housing to bring down the cost of owning a home in America.

For 50 years, the Hyde Amendment has protected unborn children and ensured American tax dollars are not used to fund abortion. Hyde has saved an estimated 2.6 million lives. There can be no compromise in protecting innocent, unborn human life. As Democrats continue to attack Hyde protections, Republicans must stand firm in their defense.

Hoosiers play by the rules, and they expect their representative to do the same. I went to Washington to hold government accountable. From banning members of Congress from trading stocks, taking on the middlemen driving up drug prices, or cutting taxes for seniors — I’m just getting started, and I’ll never stop putting Indiana first.
