It’s great to see Townsend Harris High School and Queens College continuing to create opportunities for students to earn college credit and work toward a degree before they even graduate high school. This partnership is challenging students, opening doors, and helping prepare them for what comes next. As a Townsend Harris alum, it means a lot to see my alma mater leading the way!

Congress voted to fund programs that help our small businesses, support immigrants on the path to citizenship, help combat hate crimes, and more. The Trump administration is illegally withholding millions of dollars that our communities need and deserve. https://t.co/Omm6ZBXZdm

For 10 years, the census count determines political representation and how much federal funding our neighborhoods get. We must fight back against Trump's illegal attack on our immigrant communities. https://t.co/tuELMIZpvG

Extreme heat is putting the health of pregnant women and babies at risk. Flooding is threatening homes and communities. Air pollution is hurting kids' lungs. We must do everything we can to protect our families and our future from climate change. https://t.co/LkfuPwtezO

It was an honor to celebrate the Flushing YMCA’s 100th anniversary. For a century, it has supported children, families, and seniors through programs, services, and a strong sense of community. In 2024, I secured $1.5 million in federal funding for its new facility, which will expand space and strengthen the services the YMCA provides. I’m excited to see the project completed and the impact the Flushing YMCA will continue to make over the next 100 years.

No one should fear getting arrest for doing the right thing and showing up to immigration court. ICE should never have been making arrests in courthouses to begin with. This ruling is a win for due process and for immigrant communities in Queens and across New York. https://t.co/DEBywyaC5c

A year ago, the GOP passed its “Big Ugly Bill,” making the largest cuts to SNAP in our nation’s history to give tax breaks to the wealthy. At a time when families are already struggling to afford groceries and other basics, these cuts will only make things worse. They’ll leave more New Yorkers hungry and hurt the local businesses that depend on their customers. I joined Hunger Free America to talk about what these cuts mean for our communities. I’m fighting to stop them, delay their implementation, and protect SNAP for New Yorkers for the long haul.

"Unfortunately this is not the first time that the DOJ is weaponizing the agency to target our communities, and our LGBTQ+ community, especially our young people, are unfortunately yet another victim of that. The real victims are the actual patients and families who are losing a trusted provider.” Read more in @WashingtonBlade👇 https://t.co/hzwZDU1y6d
