This National Primary Care Physician Week, I’m proud to recognize the physicians and health care professionals who serve as the first line of care for patients and families across Eastern North Carolina. Primary care physicians build lasting relationships with their patients, help manage chronic conditions, and keep our communities healthy. Thank you for all you do to care for your patients and our communities.
I was honored to help open the Belhaven ICW Festival from the historic River Forest Manor. Nearly a century after the completion of the Alligator-Pungo Canal, the Intracoastal Waterway remains vital to Eastern NC’s communities, businesses, tourism, and maritime economy. https://t.co/3Lk7zOsQS4
I had the pleasure of touring Minges Bottling in Ayden and seeing firsthand the hard work that goes into keeping a North Carolina business running and serving communities across Eastern NC. https://t.co/eE2rEaid0R
Anyone who thinks AI is better than a physician has never treated a patient or been a patient with a challenging diagnosis. It can assist in management but the ART of being a physician will never be replaced by a Bot.
I had the pleasure of participating in the Better Skills, Better Jobs Career Fair Kickoff Breakfast in Greenville. Connecting Eastern North Carolinians with the skills, training, and opportunities they need to build a strong career is critical to our region’s future. https://t.co/X5H1r0JdY7
Calling all student innovators in NC-03! @CongressionalAC is a great opportunity for middle and high school students to use their creativity and coding skills to build an app that addresses a problem they care about. I encourage students across Eastern NC to participate and show us what they can create!
Nutrition plays a critical role in managing conditions like diabetes, heart disease, and high blood pressure. We should make healthy food more accessible and affordable to seniors! Read my latest in @TheHillOpinion https://t.co/cMWAaoDo7A

Washington, D.C. — Congressman Greg Murphy, M.D., alongside Congressman Lou Correa (D-CA), introduced a resolution expressing that assisted suicide puts everyone, including those most vulnerable, at risk of deadly harm. "Rather than support and facilitate access to physician-assisted suicide, we should prioritize expanding accessibility to palliative and hospice care to maximize the quality of life for patients experiencing excessive pain," said Congressman Greg Murphy, M.D. "As a practicing physician of 35 years, I have dedicated my career to saving lives and comforting my patients. Assisted suicide is unethical, and vulnerable individuals must be protected, especially when there are alternative options available." "Americans with terminal illnesses and disabilities deserve access to quality health care and should not have their opportunity for a dignified life taken away from them," said Congressman Lou Correa (D-CA). "I have various concerns with assisted suicide laws and proposals that may adversely affect patients. This resolution intends to protect vulnerable patients across the country from any attempts to pressure them into assisted suicide."
Great news! @NCDOT announced that Highway 12 on Pea Island will open to northbound traffic ahead of schedule at 3 pm today. Again, a special thank you to our local officials in Dare County, state officials, and crews on the ground working hard to reopen the road as quickly as possible. Visit https://t.co/YlmNerxQN3 for live updates on the status of the highway.
Since the beginning of the Nor’easter my office has been in touch with county and state officials and has been closely monitoring restoration efforts on Highway 12. I continue to receive briefings from state and local officials on its status. While traffic is backed up and preventing many from traveling, it is vitally important that everyone work together during this critical time. Emergency services must be able to reach those in need of medical attention quickly. NCDOT announced this afternoon that northbound traffic on NC12 will reopen on Wednesday morning, and southbound access will follow soon after as crews continue to work tirelessly. A huge thank you to the teams moving as fast as possible to reopen the highway! Additionally, an emergency ferry route has been established to help relieve pressure. Please visit the NCDOT website below for departure times and contact information: https://t.co/yqgtmRfUZw

Violence of any kind is unacceptable in Greenville and there must be zero tolerance for individuals who threaten innocent lives. Expanding access to quality health care in Eastern North Carolina means bringing care closer to the people who need it. The new expansion of the Craven County Community Health Center in Havelock adds exam rooms, an in-house pharmacy, and a VA Behavioral Health Clinic with two providers. https://t.co/en47S0NziC
Adoption can be a life-changing blessing, but the cost can be a significant barrier for families ready to open their homes to a child. The Working Families Tax Cuts make the Adoption Tax Credit more accessible by. making up to $5,000 of the credit refundable and indexed to inflation.
I met with @butterball to discuss the issues facing turkey producers, including animal health, agricultural labor, and trade. North Carolina’s agriculture industry is an important part of our state’s economy, and I’ll continue working to support our farmers, producers, and agricultural communities.

The Greedy Health Insurers are full force to protect profits by misleading employers, government officials and even think tanks. It’s simple. Pay providers a reasonable rate for caring for patients and stop the Obstruct, Deny and Delay to protect profits. https://t.co/KozXFq2wSZ
