WASHINGTON, D.C.— Today, Chief Deputy Whip Guy Reschenthaler (R-PA) issued the following statement regarding the announcement that the Arnold Palmer Regional Airport has secured Breeze Airways as a carrier, returning commercial air service to the airport.
Proud to work with my Pennsylvania colleagues to deliver this federal funding for the Arnold Palmer Regional Airport in Westmoreland County. I applaud the Trump Administration for their continued investments into southwestern Pennsylvania.
Twenty-five years ago, nearly 3,000 Americans lost their lives when radical terrorists attacked our homeland. Their sacrifice, and the courage of those who ran toward danger to save others, remains an important part of our nation’s history. For southwestern Pennsylvania, the heroism of the passengers and crew on Flight 93 will forever be remembered. Their bravery and decision to fight back changed the course of history and saved countless lives. As a post-9/11 veteran, I am proud of those who answered the call to defend America. Today, we honor their courage, remember their sacrifice, and recommit ourselves to the freedoms they fought to protect.
President Trump’s deals continue to deliver for Southwestern Pennsylvania. NextEra Energy’s $13 billion natural gas power complex in Fayette County will create 2,000 construction jobs and 100 permanent jobs, bringing major investment and economic opportunity to the region. Made possible by President Trump’s historic trade deal with Japan, this project is another win for Pennsylvania workers. Proud to see SWPA leading the way in powering America’s energy future.
I am deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Congressman Tim Murphy. He was a dear friend and a trusted mentor to me for many years. Tim served Pennsylvania and our nation with distinction, first as a State Senator and then as a member of Congress for more than two decades. He also honorably served our country as a Commander in the U.S. Navy Reserve, where he worked to care for service members suffering from PTSD and traumatic brain injuries. Throughout his career, Tim was a tireless advocate for improving our nation’s broken mental health system, preserving the 911th Airlift Wing, and standing up for our veterans. His legacy of service and dedication will not be forgotten. May he rest in peace.
This week, I was proud to join District Attorney Nicole Ziccarelli to highlight funding for law enforcement upgrades for Westmoreland County. Nicole has a successful record of ensuring violent, heinous criminals receive justice for their criminal actions and I am honored to partner with her to secure $643,355 for local law enforcement. This funding is part of the $215 million I was proud to secure last fiscal year for southwestern Pennsylvania as a member of the House Appropriations Committee. https://t.co/WZdzQdDtkX
WASHINGTON, D.C.— Chief Deputy Whip Guy Reschenthaler (R-PA) secured $34.5 million in Community Project Funding and $167.2 million for Montgomery Lock and Dam in the Fiscal Year 2027 House Appropriations Bills. This legislation has been reported out of the House Appropriations Committee and awaits final passage in the House and Senate and enactment into law by President Trump. The funding will support critical local infrastructure and services, including road construction, water and sewer systems, law enforcement, emergency response, firefighter training, hospitals, and senior care facilities. These investments will help spur thousands of jobs in Pennsylvania. “I’m proud to deliver real results for southwestern Pennsylvania. This funding is a direct investment in our region that will grow and support family-sustaining jobs. The $34.5 million in Community Project Funding will strengthen infrastructure, support law enforcement, and improve quality of life across southwestern Pennsylvania," said Reschenthaler. "Just as important, the $167.2 million for the Montgomery Lock and Dam brings us one big step closer to completing this transformational project, which will boost commerce, create jobs, and ensure our inland waterways remain competitive for decades to come.” The Fiscal Year 2027 Appropriations Bills include funding for the following projects: $9 million for the Hempfield Community Center in Westmoreland County, PA. $3 million for the George R. The Fiscal Year 2027 Energy and Water Appropriations bill also includes $167.2 million to complete construction of Montgomery Lock and Dam. Rep. Reschenthaler has been a tireless advocate for completing the project on schedule and on budget. This funding should fund the project to completion and get the lock and dam operational as soon as possible. Reschenthaler has been instrumental in securing the more than $1.2 billion Montgomery Lock and Dam has received since the project began in Fiscal Year 2021. Reschenthaler has served on the House Appropriations Committee since 2021.
I strongly support President Trump and our nation’s warfighters as they carry out combat operations against the Iranian regime. This joint effort with Israel is essential to safeguarding American lives at home and abroad. Ayatollah Khamenei was a brutal dictator responsible for the death of thousands of innocent lives and I applaud his removal.
Wishing all those observing Yom Kippur tonight a blessed and meaningful fast. https://t.co/nJJE3RhfgL
Today, our nation mourns the tragic loss of Charlie Kirk. Charlie was a devoted husband, a loving father, and an American patriot. I believe we must continue to advance his conservative leadership and values across our great country. https://t.co/BuWR4JTJBa
Happy 78th birthday @usairforce! Thank you to all those who serve our country and defend our nation. https://t.co/ciYl17bmmy
Today marks 24 years since the worst terrorist attack in our nation's history. Nearly 3,000 lives were lost at the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and in Shanksville, PA. We must never forget those we lost and their sacrifice. https://t.co/5RBCGC9kSL
Pray for Charlie Kirk and his family.
Today, @RepDean and I introduced the STOIC Act. This bipartisan legislation will reauthorize the use of grant funding for mental health services for law enforcement officers.
Happy Labor Day! Today we celebrate the hardworking Americans who form the backbone of this nation. Your dedication is what builds and powers America. 🇺🇸 https://t.co/Rb1iXgpY9q
Thank you to @AMVETSHQ for inviting me to tour their new headquarters and veterans care facility in Washington, PA. We are thrilled that you chose southwestern PA as your new home and are grateful for all that you do for our heroic military veterans and their families! https://t.co/d6Yt6sAdfU
The numbers speak for themselves. President Trump has brought sanity and security back to our southern border. https://t.co/ES3DUEILRn
My thoughts are with the workers and their families at the U.S. Steel Clairton Coke Works. Please keep the victims and the first responders in your prayers.
One year ago, President Trump was shot at a rally in Butler, PA. He heroically survived, and months later, won a historic election to return to the White House. President Trump has a unique bond with the people of southwestern PA and our way of life. I am proud to serve in Congress and fight for his America First agenda.
We also honor the life of Corey Comperatore, a local hero, who was killed while protecting his family. Corey’s family are in my thoughts and prayers today on the anniversary of this tragic event.
PROMISES MADE, PROMISES KEPT. https://t.co/eVKzoBhpXG
Happy Independence Day! Wishing you and your family a wonderful Fourth of July, God Bless America! 🇺🇸 https://t.co/E0DYDmwFPh
Last November, the American people gave President Trump and congressional Republicans a clear mandate to provide economic relief to American families, secure our southern border, and reduce out-of-control government spending. The One Big Beautiful Bill delivers on that promise by enacting the largest tax relief package for workers, seniors, and small businesses, supporting the largest border security investment in our nation’s history, and unleashing American energy dominance to lower costs for American families. As the Chief Deputy Whip, I was proud to work with President Trump and my Republican colleagues to get this bill passed and sent to the President’s desk before the Fourth of July. This landmark legislation fulfills a once-in-a-generation opportunity to usher our nation into the golden age.
The One Big Beautiful Bill will allow Pennsylvania families to keep more of their hard earned income. This is the relief Americans demanded after four years of Biden Administration failures. https://t.co/9cOmrtMCz0
President Trump's One Big Beautiful Bill will be a huge win for America 🇺🇸 https://t.co/g42MCv053z
