It was a privilege to join @POTUS and my fellow Texans aboard Air Force One today. Wherever this job takes me, I’m proud to represent my district and to serve the people who sent me here. https://t.co/LFj2s43TzH
Twenty-five years ago, nearly 3,000 Americans went about an ordinary Tuesday morning and never came home. Today, we remember them. We remember the first responders who ran toward danger, the passengers and crew of Flight 93 who showed incredible courage, and the families who have carried that loss every day since. For those of us who served in the years that followed, September 11 is a reminder of what we were called to defend and why that service mattered. I also remember what this country looked like afterward. Americans stood together, prayed together, helped their neighbors, and reminded the world who we are. May God bless the families of those we lost, and may we never forget September 11, 2001.
Hey everyone, I’m in Annapolis at the Naval Academy. Let’s take a walk. https://t.co/AJEftNsBVK
Today, I led a @HouseSmallBiz hearing on how America can meet its growing energy and water needs while protecting families, farmers, and small businesses from carrying an unfair share of the cost. We discussed the role of nuclear power, the need for long-term investment in water infrastructure, and how local contractors, manufacturers, and skilled workers can benefit from the projects being built in their communities. I was especially glad to welcome my friend, Texas State Representative @CodyHarrisTX , to Washington. Cody understands these challenges well, and I’m grateful he shared what Texas is doing to prepare for continued growth while keeping our grid reliable, protecting our water resources, and creating opportunities for small businesses.
The Democrat Senate nominee's only qualification to be a United States Senator is that he is at least 30 years old. I say again, I will vote straight Republican this November, and I encourage my fellow Texans to do the same. @jamestalarico.
School bells are ringing! 🎒📚 To all the students, teachers, & parents gearing up for a new year; wishing you a great start & a year full of learning, making friends, & growing. I’m so proud of our local ISDs & everyone working hard to give our children an exemplary education. https://t.co/mMpnGmBjJl
Hey everyone. I want to take a few minutes today to talk about something that’s been on my heart and mind lately: perspective. https://t.co/DnXwiQTGx1

I am deeply saddened by the passing of my friend and colleague, Chairwoman Kay Granger. Kay dedicated her life to serving North Texas and our country with integrity, humility, and unwavering commitment. She made history throughout her career, but she never lost sight of the people she represented. It was an honor to serve alongside her on the House Appropriations Committee and to call her a friend. Shelby and I are praying for her family, her friends, and everyone mourning this tremendous loss. She will be deeply missed.
Texas lost one of its own this weekend. Pvt. Isabella Gonzales of Carrollton made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our nation in Jordan. At just 19 years old, she answered the call to serve something greater than herself, and our country is better because of her courage and commitment. We also mourn the second American soldier who gave his life alongside her. Please join Shelby and me in praying for their families, friends, and fellow soldiers as they carry this tremendous loss. As a nation, we honor their sacrifice and stand with those they leave behind. May God bring comfort to their families and continue to watch over our men and women in uniform.
Today, 250 years ago, the world changed. America changed the course of human history. Over the last 250 years, America has endured war, hardship, division, and sacrifice. But we have also achieved the impossible, expanded freedom, inspired generations, and proven time and again that no challenge is too great when the American people stand together. The story of our nation has never been one of perfection. It has always been one of perseverance. Every generation has been called to leave this country stronger than they found it, and every generation has answered that call in its own way. As we celebrate 250 years of the United States, may we remember those who built this nation, those who defended it, and those who continue to serve it today. The greatest chapters of the American story are not behind us. They are still being written.
Spent the morning at the rededication of the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum as it celebrates 50 years. Since opening in 1976, it’s been a place where kids and adults alike can look up, dream big, and learn about the Americans who changed the course of aviation and space exploration. If you ever get the chance to visit, it’s well worth the trip!
While I’m in Washington this week, my district team is back home volunteering at the VA’s Fourth of July picnic. They helped serve hot dogs, ice cream, and pie to nearly 2,000 veterans and VA employees, many of whom served in uniform themselves. It’s a small way to say thank you to the men and women who have served our country. I’m grateful to my team for representing our office and to everyone who helped make the day special for our veterans.
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Jake Ellzey (TX-06), a member of the House Appropriations Committee, recognizes the committee's completion of all twelve Fiscal Year 2027 appropriations bills, marking a return to regular order and the constitutional responsibility of Congress to fund the federal government through a transparent, disciplined process. As the nation approaches the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, the House Appropriations Committee has advanced every annual appropriations bill through subcommittee and full committee consideration, restoring a process centered on accountability, oversight, and responsible stewardship of taxpayer dollars. "One of Congress's most important constitutional responsibilities is deciding how the American people's tax dollars are spent," said Congressman Ellzey. "I'm proud that the House Appropriations Committee has completed all twelve appropriations bills through committee and returned to regular order. That's how the legislative process is supposed to work. "We've debated priorities in the open, exercised meaningful oversight, and produced funding bills that strengthen our national defense, support our veterans, secure our border, invest in critical infrastructure, and protect taxpayers. As a former Navy fighter pilot, I know our men and women in uniform deserve the resources they need to deter our adversaries and, if called upon, win decisively. "This process isn't about politics; it's about fulfilling the duty the Constitution gives Congress. The House has done its work, and now it's time to pass these bills and continue proving that responsible governing is still possible." The House Appropriations Committee has completed action on all twelve annual appropriations bills for Fiscal Year 2027, reaffirming Congress's Article I responsibility to establish national priorities, conduct oversight of federal agencies, and ensure taxpayer dollars are spent efficiently and effectively.
The United States must be able to defend itself. Having the most lethal fighting force on the planet is only half the equation. We must equip our service members with everything they need to deter our adversaries and preserve the peace without firing a single shot. But if that moment comes, We must be prepared to win quickly, decisively, and without question. That’s why I’m proud to support this year’s Defense Appropriations bill, and I’m proud of the work our committee did to advance it.
11-2 on the field and back to work to continue to win for the American people. https://t.co/MxKefE8cDR
Today, I joined my fellow veterans in washing the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall ahead of Memorial Day. For many of us, this is personal. The names etched into that wall are not just history. They were friends, brothers, sons, and Americans who answered the call and never made it home.
This morning I joined Speaker Johnson and House Leadership to discuss this week’s legislative agenda. But perhaps more important than that, I took a moment to talk about Memorial Day and what it truly means to our country. I shared the story of Clark Schwedler, a man I served alongside who didn’t come home. Memorial Day is personal for so many veterans and military families because behind every name is a friend, a teammate, a son, a daughter, or someone who mattered deeply to the people around them. As Memorial Day approaches, we remember Clark and all those who gave their lives defending this country. Their sacrifice secured the freedoms we enjoy every day, and we owe it to them to never forget the cost of that freedom.
Good to visit with the Academy of General Dentistry, including constituent Dr. Brooke Elmore, to discuss the issues facing dentists and oral health providers across the country. We had a productive conversation about the challenges impacting the industry and the importance of ensuring families can continue to access quality dental care in their communities.
Today in a hearing with Secretary of Defense @PeteHegseth, I discussed the USS Gerald R. Ford’s 11 month deployment and the toll extended deployments take on our sailors and military families. As threats around the world grow, this is not the time for fewer carriers. The US Navy relies on aircraft carriers to project power, demonstrate American resolve, deter our adversaries, and protect American interests across the globe.
Always good to sit down with folks from back home. Enjoyed visiting with the Hillsboro Airport management team in our district office today and hearing more about what’s going on in the community. Appreciate them taking the time to stop by. https://t.co/sgwZPXMDmY
There are few things as peaceful as our Capitol completely empty. Yesterday, after votes and after everyone had gone home, I just stopped and took a moment to take it all in. The quiet halls, the stillness of the chamber, the weight of the history in the walls, it’s a reminder of how far we’ve come and how much further we have to go. I’m grateful for the opportunity to apart of the greatest institution ever created. And I’m thankful for everyone who sent me here.
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Congressman Jake Ellzey supported the Farm, Food, and National Security Act of 2026, legislation designed to strengthen America’s agricultural economy, support family farmers and ranchers, improve food affordability, and reinforce national security. “Farmers and ranchers across Texas are facing some of the toughest conditions since the farm crisis of the 1980s,” said Rep. Ellzey. “They need certainty, access to credit, and stronger risk management tools right now. This bill delivers exactly that while protecting taxpayers and strengthening rural America.” The legislation expands access to credit and risk management tools for producers, modernizes rural development and energy programs, strengthens conservation efforts on working lands, and prioritizes responsible management of federal forests. It also provides regulatory certainty for producers who rely on critical crop protection tools and protects interstate commerce for livestock operations. The bill makes historic investments in specialty crops, supporting increased domestic production of fruits and vegetables while expanding access to meat processing infrastructure and cutting-edge agricultural research. It also strengthens export promotion programs to help reduce the agricultural trade deficit and ensures proper oversight of humanitarian food aid by returning administration of the Food for Peace program to the U.S. Department of Agriculture. “Food affordability begins on the farm,” Ellzey said. “If we want to lower costs at the grocery store, we have to start by making sure family farms can stay in business and continue feeding our communities.” The Farm, Food, and National Security Act of 2026 maintains responsible spending by remaining budget neutral and reinforcing integrity and transparency within nutrition programs while prioritizing health outcomes for families.
Hey everyone, after a long, frustrating but ultimately productive and rewarding week, I’m heading home. But before that, let’s take a walk. https://t.co/HprCechwrz
I was proud to support measures that help ensure success for Texas farmers and ranchers as they face some of the toughest conditions in decades. A strong agricultural base keeps family farms in business, helps stabilize food prices, and supports rural communities. Food security is national security, and America must remain able to feed itself.
