This is huge win for rural education! Both Chico State ($8 million) and Sonoma State ($5.4 million) received a federal Teacher Quality Partnership grant to help train up teachers for our rural schools. The ROOTS program gives the resident student teacher a $42,000 stipend as they learn under a mentor teacher and obtain their credential. The program also puts a strong emphasis on literacy and mathematics instruction. Gavin Newsom could act to make sure Californians can get access to cheaper diesel fuel. But he refuses to do so. Just like he refuses to suspend the gas taxes or provide any kind of relief at the pump. He fast tracked legislation that shut down refineries and jacked up our gas prices. But he won’t use his pen to lower them. The truth is he doesn’t actually want to lower your costs. He wants you out of your gas or diesel powered vehicle altogether. He almost succeeded in banning your car or truck. But his House majority shut him down. We will continue to fight to lower your costs. Even if Gavin won’t.
