This Administration cannot stand when women of color refuse to back down. Just weeks before the election, they’ve weaponized DHS to raid Rep. Ilhan Omar’s home. This is authoritarian behavior — plain and simple. We will NOT be intimidated.

A child had to watch their father get shot by ICE. Our babies deserve to be kids. Not live in fear. Not locked in cages. And not be caught in gunfire while in the back seat of a car. This rogue ICE agency is out of control. Enough.

Rep. Crockett Investigates Police Use of Force Against Students in Texas Schools

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett (TX-30) sent a letter to Governor Greg Abbott, Attorney General Ken Paxton, and Education Commissioner Mike Morath demanding answers and accountability over the use of excessive force against children in Texas public schools. “Texas is failing our kids. Our children deserve to go to school in an environment that fosters learning and growth, not environments where ordinary student behavior can end with a child in handcuffs, hogtied, shocked with a Taser, or pepper-sprayed.” Crockett expressed concern regarding the expansive presence of police in school, putting Texas students in unnecessary contact with the criminal system, further opening the door to the school-to-prison pipeline. In her letter, Crockett highlights how officers using excessive force to respond to student behavior could ordinarily be addressed through school discipline. The letter cites a New York Times investigation documenting more than 2,600 school-based use-of-force incidents across Texas from January 2022 through December 2025. Crockett is demanding answers regarding police involvement in routine student discipline, incident reporting, accountability for police misconduct, and potential changes to state law training. “The number of “incidents” is alarming. Our kiddos should not be treated like criminals. They are the future of this country, and we owe it to them to protect them from cruel and abusive behavior. I am urging our Texas leaders to exercise immediate oversight and ensure accountability for these horrific reported actions. This is unacceptable, and it has to stop.”

Our kids are being hogtied, handcuffed, and tased in our schools. Keeping them safe should be the bare minimum. I am urging our Texas leaders to exercise immediate oversight and ensure accountability for these horrific reported actions. This is unacceptable, and it has to stop.

Four women of color: Fort Worth Council Member Deborah Peoples(🔺); retired Judge Maryellen Hicks(🔺), the first Black woman to serve as a Fort Worth state district judge and later the first Black justice on the Second Court of Appeals; her daughter, former Mayor Pro Tem and City Council member Kathleen Hicks (🔺); & podiatrist/activist Camille Rodriguez (🔺)are fighting for ballot access in TARRANT COUNTY. Councilwoman Deborah Peoples has been on the front lines for a long time. Much like me she served & helped to elect others as a County Party chair prior to her current role. Learn who is in this fight on the very granular levels in your city, county, & state! 💪🏾 Leadership is bigger than a title.

Working families deserve more than a Band-Aid fix. They need real relief at the pump, at the grocery store, and at the doctor’s office. Let’s run the receipts: Trump has dragged us into this illegal war, cut SNAP and Medicaid for millions of Americans, and just spent $20 million of your tax dollars on ads lying about his failed policies. They need to stop putting on a show for the midterms and start showing up for the people.

Now that I’ve disconnected, to do something fun, let me be clear: from now until Election Day, I won’t give an ounce of energy to addressing anything remotely negative or false & clearly this trend is going to continue. Instead I will pour into the amazing candidates that have APPLIED to be endorsed by @thefirepac & received our nod. I’ll be sure to point to the real opposition & finally I’ll say thank you to the REAL ONES… that can always see through the BS 🙏🏾. The more we fight one another, the less we are fighting the people that put us here… and love me or hate me, I DID NOT GET US INTO THIS BS! I stand on my body of work that spans years that even preceded elected office & just like they divided & distracted folk during the presidential, they are doing it again. Nothing I’ve done has taken food, healthcare, nor jobs away from the people I swore to rep. I will use my influence to support those that support making lives better. ✌🏾 If you aren’t talking about a R… and the lives being ravaged by them, you aren’t helping to contribute to a solution.

NOW FOR THE 1000th time maybe write an article about KEN F*in PAXTON. Y’all all sound like corny groupie ass OPS! Now do you know 5 of the other 103 races on the Harris County ballot?! DID Y’all even know they have the longest ballot in the COUNTRY?! Mind the business that pays you. For the lazy journalists that you see, point them here 👇🏾

Republicans campaigned on lowering costs, protecting democracy, and standing up for working families. Yet here they are bribing voters, closing polling sites, and kicking people off the voter rolls. They control every lever of power in Washington, but all we’ve seen from them is lawlessness, lip service, and lies. If they had actually delivered on their promises, they wouldn’t be afraid of your vote.

Rep. Crockett Demands Abbott Release Texas Maternal Mortality Report Before the Midterms

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett (TX-30) called on Texas Governor Greg Abbott, Texas Department of State Health Services Interim Commissioner Imelda Garcia, and Texas Maternal Mortality and Morbidity Review Committee Presiding Officer Dr. Carla Ortique to immediately release Texas’s latest maternal mortality report, warning that withholding these findings until after the midterm elections would prevent Texans from the opportunity to examine the state’s maternal health record before casting their ballots. “Texas mothers are dying, and instead of giving us answers, Abbott’s administration is hiding that data, right before the midterms,” said Crockett. In her letter, Crockett cites recent research documenting worsening maternal health outcomes following the enactment of Senate Bill 8 in 2021, which effectively banned abortion after six weeks of pregnancy. The letter also highlights the state’s decision to forgo analysis of pregnancy-related deaths during the two years immediately following the law’s enactment. Recent independent analyses cited in the letter found significant increases in serious pregnancy complications following Texas’s abortion restrictions, including increases in sepsis among women hospitalized during second-trimester pregnancy loss, emergency room visits for early miscarriage, and blood transfusions during miscarriage-related emergency room visits. “As the most uninsured state in the country, Texas is already failing women — especially our mothers. And burying that truth to silence families' stories does not erase their reality. Texans deserve the truth. They deserve transparency. And this administration has a legal obligation to give it to them,” said Crockett. With early voting scheduled to begin October 19, Crockett called on state officials to release the MMMRC’s findings without further delay and fulfill the committee’s statutory responsibility to examine pregnancy-related deaths and help prevent maternal deaths in Texas. The full letter can be found here.

This is bigger than partisan politics. This is about people. Our neighbors are being shot, our children are being kidnapped, and our communities are living in fear. And while this administration continues to fuel the agency at the center of it all, Republicans didn’t even bother to show up. Enough. We deserve better.

Just two months after ICE murdered Lorenzo Salgado Araujo, these unqualified ICE agents shot another man in Texas. This rogue agency continues to show no regard for human life, shooting people in the middle of the street and getting away with it. We will not look the other way. We deserve a full, independent, and transparent investigation.
