Mom, my sister, and I stopped off I-70 @WarmGlowCandle in Centerville for coffee. Predictably, Mom and my sister left with bags full of fall candles. I should’ve seen that coming. https://t.co/YULLAqjVx4

Federal funding doesn’t begin with a check from Washington. It begins with local communities doing the groundwork. That was our focus in Shelby County as we looked ahead to 2027 Community Project Funding. If your town has a project on the drawing board —now’s the time to talk with our team. #IN06

At @HoopsHall in New Castle, I met with Hoosiers to discuss 2027 funding for roads, water and sewer upgrades, and first responder equipment. I’ve advanced $56 million for 6th District projects this Congress. Our communities set the priorities. My job is to help secure the dollars to get it done. #IN06

Caring for our neighbors takes skill, patience, and compassion. Last week, I visited Envive Healthcare in Beech Grove, formerly St. Paul Hermitage, to hear from the team providing nursing care and rehabilitation for Hoosiers. Thanks to Ben Wells for the tour and to the nursing staff for the work they do every day for our neighbors and their families. #IN06

Strong schools and a strong local economy go hand in hand. In the Columbus area, the Community Education Coalition brings educators and employers together to connect education and training with the skills our businesses need. I met with Dr. Jim Roberts and Ashley Dieter to discuss that work: helping Hoosiers prepare for careers and helping local employers find the talent they need to grow. #IN06

I support Governor Braun’s gas tax suspension extension and diesel relief for our farmers. Joining the Campbell family for harvest in Franklin brought the stakes home: higher fuel costs hit farms and grocery bills. I’m working in Congress to strengthen our domestic fuel supply — including IN-grown corn ethanol — to lower costs for Hoosiers.

That “local” Indiana number calling you may not be local at all. SIM boxes route overseas calls through hundreds of SIM cards, making scammers look like neighbors. Today I introduced the Stop SIM Box Scams Act to ban these devices and help federal agencies keep them out of our country. Take away the tool. Limit the calls. #StopScams

Press Release
Shreve Introduces Bill to Ban Scam Call Machines

WASHINGTON — Today, Stop Scams Caucus Chairman Jefferson Shreve introduced the Stop SIM Box Scams Act to ban devices that help scammers disguise their calls as local. Known as SIM boxes, these machines hold hundreds of SIM cards and cycle through phone numbers, helping scam operations reach Americans while evading detection. The bill would prohibit manufacturing, importing, selling, leasing, advertising, owning, or operating SIM boxes. It would also direct the Federal Communications Commission to coordinate with federal law enforcement to block imports and pursue the scam syndicates using them. "That ‘local’ Indiana number on your phone may be a scammer calling from halfway around the world. I wrote this bill to stop scammers from using these machines to pose as our neighbors," said Congressman Shreve (R-IN-06). "Scammers shouldn’t be able to use our area codes to rip off our communities. Our legislation bans the deceptive devices that allow scammers to masquerade as our neighbors, cutting off a key tool for fraudsters and protecting working families," said Congressman Rob Menendez (D-NJ-08). "Illegal calls and texts are the weapons of choice for criminals defrauding Americans in record numbers. That is why we have long called for banning SIM boxes, which enable high-volume illegal calling while allowing criminals to mask the call’s origin. The Stop SIM Box Scams Act would take this important step, and Congress should protect consumers by passing it as soon as possible," said Erik Rust, Bank Policy Institute SVP & Head of Government Affairs.

I’m reflecting this weekend on my visit last week in Washington with Archbishop Charles Thompson of the @archindy. We discussed Pope Leo’s encyclical on artificial intelligence. I share his concern that technological progress must protect human dignity. AI holds great promise — and challenges. Our responsibility is to guide its development with care for our families and the next generation.

We broke ground on a new terminal at Richmond Municipal Airport. The current one is 80 years old. Wayne County needs a new gateway. The city did the work to get this project ready. I advocated for the $1.4 million FAA award to help make it happen. With 15,000 operations a year, this airport keeps eastern Indiana connected. #IN06
