Yesterday I joined Isle of Wight County Schools for their 10th annual “Crunch Heard ‘Round the Commonwealth” to celebrate Virginia agriculture and local farm-to-school initiatives. I also enjoyed touring the award-winning Agricultural Land Lab and seeing firsthand how students are learning about agriculture and where their food comes from. Programs like these help connect students with Virginia’s farming community and highlight the important role agriculture plays in our local economy. This was a great way to celebrate National Farm to School Month and thank you to @iwcschools for having me…! 🍎

Today, we remember the unprovoked attack on Israel by Hamas terrorists and honor the lives lost. October 7th was the deadliest day for the Jewish people since the Holocaust. I will continue to support our ally, Israel, and am proud to stand with the Jewish community in Southeast Virginia and around the world. I’m proud to lead the bipartisan, bicameral 'Helping Ensure Reliable Opportunities (HERO) in Child Care for Military Families Act' to make sure our service members have access to reliable, high-quality child care. Military families already make tremendous sacrifices to serve our nation, and finding child care shouldn’t be another barrier they have to overcome. This legislation will help address staffing shortages, reduce waitlists, and give the Department of Defense better data to strengthen child care programs. Supporting military families is directly tied to military readiness, and I’ll keep working across the aisle to deliver results for the families who serve our country...!

Today marks the third anniversary of Hamas’ brutal attack against Israel—including the murder of unarmed men, women, and children. As we remember those murdered that day and mourn the lives lost in the years since, we continue to pray for their families and loved ones. Shout-out to our law enforcement officers and first responders who attended and to all the young people who came out to meet people in the community! This morning I visited Lyon Shipyard to learn more about the important work they’re doing to support our Navy and commercial shipping industry. Since 1928, Lyon has been a key part of Hampton Roads’ maritime industry, supporting our fleet and strengthening our local economy. It was great to meet with leadership and their employees and to see their operations firsthand. Thank you to the Lyon Shipyard team for having me and for all you do to support our Navy, our maritime industry, and Hampton Roads..!

Yesterday we held a “Parents and Teachers Roundtable” discussion with Governor Glenn Youngkin at Ynot Pizza in Virginia Beach. Virginia is the birthplace of the “Parents Matter” movement and no one cares about this issue more than Governor Youngkin! It was a privilege to have him join us to hear his insights on how we can ensure our schools in Virginia are meeting the needs of our students and families!

Facts Matter! Flashback to Elaine Luria’s time in Congress: WAVY reported Luria was “not on board” with a Congressional stock trading ban while in office, and said “Luria meanwhile owns millions of dollars in publicly-traded stock with her husband, in companies such as Facebook, Apple, Netflix and NVIDIA Corporation, records show.” Luria is lying, and VA-02 deserves to know the truth.
