Courtney, Joseph David a Representative from Connecticut; born in West Hartford, Hartford County, Conn., April 6, 1953; graduated from Northwest Catholic High School, West Hartford, Conn., 1971; B.A., Tufts University, Medford, Mass., 1975; J.D., University of Connecticut, Storrs, Conn., 1978; lawyer, private practice; member of the Connecticut state house of representatives, 1987-1994; elected as a Democrat to the One Hundred Tenth and to the nine succeeding Congresses (January 3, 2007-present).
