One of the most rewarding parts about being a Member of Congress is nominating our district's best and brightest to attend our nation's top military academies. Last weekend, my office hosted our annual Military Service Academy Day for all those students interested in attending the nation's top service academies. I wish them all best of luck in the upcoming application process.
Tennesseans understand that there is nothing appealing about socialism. Success in the Volunteer State is rooted in freedom, hard work, and personal responsibility - not government dependency. President Trump and House Republicans are working every day to protect these values and ensure America remains the best place to build a business, raise a family, and pursue the American Dream.
As an 8th-generation Tennessee farmer, I know firsthand that farming is more than a job—it is a calling. On National Farmers Day, I am honored to thank Tennessee’s farmers and agricultural workers who work hard every day to keep food on our tables. Tennessee’s 6th Congressional District is home to some of the greatest farmers in the country, and I am proud to support them and advocate for them every day in Congress.
It was great to be in Cookeville to celebrate the grand opening of Home Depot. I’m proud to see this region continue to grow and attract new businesses. https://t.co/2tqdR9gasW
Congratulations to the city of Cookeville and the business and community leaders who helped attract major retailer Target to this area! I was glad to welcome Target to Cookeville alongside County Commissioners, City Council members, County Mayor Randy Porter, and Cookeville Mayor Chad Gilbert, as well as former Mayors Laurin Wheaton and Ricky Shelton.
I was honored to recognize Sgt. Claude Walls from Wilson County on the House Floor. Sgt. Walls' selfless actions during the Korean War saved his brothers in arms. As we mark the 75th anniversary of his heroic actions this year, we remember Sgt. Walls' legacy of courage, heroism, and devotion to our country.
Another successful Military Service Academy Day is in the books! It was an honor to meet with an outstanding group of young Tennesseans who feel called to serve our great nation. As the nomination and application process gets underway, please don’t hesitate to reach out to my office with any questions.
REMINDER for any high schooler in the 6th Congressional District interested in attending a Military Service Academy: Tomorrow from 10 until noon, you can meet with representatives from each academy and the ROTC. My team will also be on site to answer any questions you/your family may have!
Last week, my office and I had the opportunity to tour the first ground-level, chassis-less manufactured home during the @HUDgov Innovative Housing Showcase. It was an honor to help secure this provision, which will be a game changer in lowering housing costs and making homeownership and renting more affordable for future generations.
I am proud to have earned an A+ rating from the American Energy Alliance for my work during the 119th Congress. Since coming to Washington, I have remained committed to advancing affordable, reliable, American energy, strengthening our energy security, and expanding our nation’s energy production. I will continue working to unleash American energy and guarantee Tennessee families and businesses have access to the dependable, affordable power they need.
Military Service Academy Day is October 3. Middle and high school students interested in attending one of our nation’s five Military Service Academies are invited to attend this informative event. Students and families will have the opportunity to hear from representatives, alumni, cadets, and midshipmen from the Service Academies and learn more about the application and nomination process. For more information, please contact my Cookeville office. I look forward to seeing Tennessee’s next generation of leaders ready to serve our country.
AI cleaned up my sideline photo from last season. 24 hours to kick-off! #GBO https://t.co/mF7a64qrjo
American immigration policy should serve the American people. President Trump’s public-charge policy emphasizes financial self-sufficiency in immigration decisions. I recently introduced H.R. 9876, the BAN Act, which would address birth tourism by restricting entry for those seeking to obtain U.S. citizenship for a child and establish penalties for businesses that market U.S. citizenship as a product. Our citizenship is not for sale.
“We need enforcement that reaches companies evading our duties, trade agreements that deliver meaningful access, and policies that translate ‘Buy American’ into actual purchases from American producers.” Last week, @HouseAgGOP held a hearing focused on increasing demand and expanding opportunities for homegrown American products. Our farmers, ranchers, and foresters need reliable, dependable markets here at home. I will continue advocating in Congress for the hardworking Tennessee producers who feed, fuel, and supply our nation.
Last week, I was honored to join my Republican colleagues in celebrating the unveiling of @SpeakerMcCarthy official portrait. Speaker McCarthy is a strong conservative leader who fought to rein in Washington’s reckless spending, secure our southern border, and advance a conservative agenda in the House. I was proud to stand beside him throughout his Speakership and I’m glad to see his portrait will hang in the Capitol for years to come.
After years of advocacy, I want to congratulate the Tennessee Association of Broadcasters and @nabtweets for their work in getting the AM Radio for Every Vehicle Act across the finish line in the House last week. As a longtime supporter of this legislation, I see the value AM brings to families every day and in an emergency—especially those in rural communities. The Senate should pass the bill this week. All new cars should have AM capability.
I've been a conservative my whole life. Tennessee sent me to Congress to safeguard their tax dollars, and I will continue to protect your money.
It was great to meet with representatives from the Tennessee Pork Producers this week in Washington and discuss their legislative priorities. I remain committed to supporting Tennessee’s agriculture industry and I want to thank the Pork Producers for continuing to advocate for Tennessee’s swine farmers.
Tennessee has long been a leader in the automotive manufacturing business, and I am proud to support them here in Congress. It was a pleasure to meet with members of the Tennessee Automotive Association in Washington yesterday. https://t.co/h0J9JaFoHe
It was an honor to welcome Somaliland President Abdirahman Mohamed Abdullahi to my office in Washington today. The people of Somaliland have worked hard to strengthen their relationship with the U.S. and our allies. It's why I'm proud to lead legislation that supports removing barriers to U.S. financial markets, which is great for both of our nations.
25 years later - we will never forget. Terrorism against America will not be tolerated. 🇺🇸
Today marks 25 years since the horrific terrorist attacks on our nation. We mourn the lives of those we lost and honor the bravery of those who responded. I pray that today, we are reminded of the unwavering spirit of the American people and the unity that followed. May we continue striving for that same unity for years to come.
One year ago today, Charlie Kirk was murdered while practicing his First Amendment right. Charlie will be remembered as a husband, father, and a valiant fighter for truth, justice, and freedom. We continue to lift Erika and his children in prayer during this difficult time of remembrance.
My family and I would like to wish all Tennesseans a happy (and safe) Labor Day. https://t.co/gBNSutlU2u
One year ago, President Trump signed the Homebuyers Privacy Protection Act into law, amending the Fair Credit Reporting Act to protect homebuyers from unsolicited sales tactics. This week, I received my copy of the legislation with the Presidential signature - a great reminder of the work it took to get this bill across the finish line. I was proud to spearhead this effort to make the home buying process easier and more secure for Tennesseans and all Americans.
