Thank you to @geneseedems and @SaginawDems for bringing us together to rally behind the Democratic ticket this November. We’re 3 weeks out! ⏳ Make sure everyone you know has a plan to vote. Check your registration, find your polling place, and bring a friend along. Let’s finish strong! 💙
We were proud to welcome the @USChamber to Grand Blanc. When we support entrepreneurs who are trying to start or run a business, we’re supporting the shops, restaurants, and companies that make our communities even stronger. https://t.co/RJaHdpnG9U
This Administration is asking Head Start teachers to do more with less. This proposed overhaul will be disastrous for kids, teachers, and working parents. https://t.co/7FXctZrMDb
It was an honor to have the incredible @GabbyGiffords and @CaptMarkKelly in Saginaw and Bay City yesterday! Thank you to @local1098 and the @UAW Local 362 for hosting us. Your story, courage, and fight inspire us all. Together, we'll end the chaos and corruption, and turn the page toward a stronger, safer, and more affordable future for working families.
“If I were Pete Hegseth, I’d be worried. It’s certainly something that needs serious consideration, and I hear Democrats, yes, but I also hear some Republicans saying it as well. I think there’s a lot he needs to answer for.” https://t.co/AtEfj8HJI0
Honored to have the endorsement of the Fraternal Order of Police @michiganfop. Our law enforcement officers have our backs every day, and I'll always have theirs. #MI08 https://t.co/P4HYbAwqLG
Parents today are working hard and still struggling to find affordable child care. We sat down at a child care facility in Fenton to talk about our bipartisan bill to cut red tape and lower costs for parents. https://t.co/AfGMKvvnZb
Congratulations to all the @ibewmichigan Local 692 retirees on their incredible careers and years of service. I thank you for inviting me to be a part of the celebration. ⚡️ https://t.co/iYk9fow70R
Maybe we should... stop? https://t.co/1z0m9U2yL2
Supporting the next generation of entrepreneurs and job creators is one of the best things we can do to create lasting economic growth. https://t.co/Di1bC9rpLQ
I was honored to receive the Advocate for American Business Award from the @USChamber yesterday in Grand Blanc. It was all the more special to receive it at Great Harvest Bread Company alongside our friends from the Grand Blanc Chamber of Commerce. If we want to make it easier for businesses to grow, cutting red tape and standing up to some of the chaotic policies in Washington are great places to start.
The Coast Guard is finally restoring 24/7 rescue operations on the Saginaw Bay and Saginaw River. This will make mid-Michigan safer, and it wouldn’t have happened without our community coming together to raise our voices. https://t.co/UfpmqoHk4G
What a morning in Flint yesterday! Huge thank you to @FerrellZabala and the @momsdemand crew for joining us, and to every volunteer who showed up to knock doors. 💥 https://t.co/Ogzxz2mVBP
We can’t let mountains of paperwork stop us from giving kids the care they need. We have a bipartisan bill to cut red tape and make sure more families can get affordable child care. https://t.co/j4zvzI2Cvt
Great news: The Saginaw River Coast Guard station will resume FULL operations in 2027! This means faster search-and-rescue operations and less strain on local law enforcement’s resources. We’ve been pushing for this for over a year. Thank you to every Michigander who spoke up and helped make this happen.
FLINT— Congresswoman Kristen McDonald Rivet (MI-08) and the mid-Michigan community have secured a commitment from the United States Coast Guard that the Saginaw River station will be returning to full staffing and capacity in 2027. The announcement follows more than a year of Congresswoman McDonald Rivet’s advocacy for a return to full operations. “The Saginaw Coast Guard station getting its full funding is a big deal for mid-Michigan. It means stronger search-and-rescue operations, significantly shorter response times on the Saginaw Bay and Saginaw River, and less strain on local law enforcement so they can fully focus their efforts on the ground,” said Congresswoman Kristen McDonald Rivet. “This is what happens when everyday people use their voices, and I am deeply grateful to the hundreds of Michiganders and community leaders who joined together to make this happen.” For over a year, Congresswoman McDonald Rivet has pushed the U.S. Coast Guard to restore full coverage at the station: In July 2025, Congresswoman McDonald Rivet authored a provision requiring the Coast Guard to study the impact of reduced search-and-rescue operations at the Saginaw River station following the elimination of 24/7 operations in 2024. In December 2025, the Congresswoman got that provision signed into law. Also in July 2025, the Congresswoman advocated for restoring 24/7 coverage in a Transportation and Infrastructure Committee markup of the Coast Guard Authorization Act of 2025. In March 2026, at a Coast Guard and Maritime Transportation Subcommittee hearing with USCG Vice Commandant Admiral Thomas Allan Jr., Congresswoman McDonald Rivet emphasized how local first responders have had to make up for the Coast Guard’s cuts to search-and-rescue coverage. In June 2026, Congresswoman McDonald Rivet again urged the Commandant of the United States Coast Guard to immediately restore a fully operational and fully staffed Saginaw River Station. Later in June 2026, at a Coast Guard and Maritime Transportation Subcommittee hearing, the Congresswoman highlighted the consequences of short staffing to USCG Vice Admiral Douglas M. Schofield.
We had so much fun at the K?Onda! Festival in Saginaw this year. K? Onda! always does a great job bringing people together to celebrate Hispanic culture and heritage, anchored by some of the small businesses and organizations that make mid-Michigan so special. https://t.co/429tzdQztz
Farmers and truckers across Michigan are getting crushed by skyrocketing diesel prices. Those high prices then get passed on to everyone. The war in Iran has to end before things get even worse. https://t.co/JcUsTegajA
Parents deserve better than a broken child care system. We have a bipartisan bill to bring down costs and make things easier for families. https://t.co/FYyjyi6Xll

It’s wrong for Big Tech to get tax breaks to build data centers while working people struggle. I wrote a bill to fix that. https://t.co/YKYcdniaEh
Allow me to reintroduce myself, my name is Kristen. 👋🏻 It's not rocket science what this campaign is about, my goals haven’t changed since day one. #MI08 https://t.co/Jbp8zKXYMf
In mid-Michigan, we know all tariffs aren't bad. But an unstable market is. #MI08. https://t.co/RGEeVYG4xF
One year ago, while gathering to worship, parishioners at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Grand Blanc suffered an unimaginable terror attack. I join the community in remembering the four victims, extending our prayers to their families and fellow congregants, and standing with the community as we remember the tragedies of that day. Today, we also honor the heroic first responders who were on the scene in a matter of seconds. The remarkable speed and decision-making of our 911 dispatchers, law enforcement officers, firefighters, and paramedics saved lives. In the days, weeks, and months since, neighbors have come together to grieve, heal, and find the light under the motto, “Grand Blanc, Better Together.” In the wake of an unimaginable tragedy, the Church and its community have shown us the power of faith and hope. As they break ground tonight, all of mid-Michigan will be behind them with love and support.
