Healthcare is a human right! That’s why I’ve brought home millions for local hospitals and clinics, to build and expand behavioral health clinics, and for emergency services across the state. From Bernalillo to Belen, Ft. Sumner to Sandia—these facilities will help save lives. It’s why I’ve also fought to protect Medicare and Medicaid from disastrous cuts, expand rural clinics, and invest in the pipeline for new nurses, doctors and healthcare workers. It’s why I helped pass the PACT Act to expand care for veterans and legislation to protect maternal health and lower prescription drug prices, and expand access in Tribal communities. We’re not going to stop fighting for the care New Mexicans deserve. ❤️

Today Trump’s Department of Homeland Security raided U.S. Congresswoman @Ilhan Omar’s house in a gross abuse of power. This comes as @DHSgov and @TheJusticeDept have abused and weaponized their power to pursue Congresswoman @RepLaMonica for doing her job this last year. Make no mistake—the weaponizing of federal law enforcement to go after elected officials who the President deems as “political opponents” is a chilling and dangerous abuse of power that must be stopped. We stand in solidarity with Rep. Omar and the entire Somali American community which has been under attack by this President time and time again, and with Rep. McIver who is still fighting this abuse of power in the courts. We will not stay silent.

We are building New Mexico and our economy! We know New Mexicans are strong and resilient, but struggling to get by—and that is why EVERY DAY we’re fighting to address the costs of housing, food, other essentials and to rebuild our economy—because every New Mexican should be able to put food on the table, a roof over their head, and live with dignity and purpose! Over the last 5 years, we’ve worked tirelessly to bring home millions for economic development, infrastructure, and good union jobs. I’ve secured millions to rebuild our cities and towns and invest in local businesses and entrepreneurs. I’ve helped support schools, clinics, and trades programs and secured millions for housing, food assistance, and other programs that help New Mexico families thrive—while fighting to build jobs, protect Social Security, expand healthcare, and build a brighter future for our state. Every day, our firefighters and first responders put everything on the line to keep our communities safe. In many of our communities, our firefighters are the first on the scene when someone needs help. They battle wildfires, save lives during floods, and provide life-saving care. That’s why I’ve invested millions in fire and emergency services across our state, including in Albuquerque, Moriarty and the East Mountains, Fort Sumner, Sandia, and Peralta. We have new proposals for emergency centers in Lincoln and Valencia counties. I secured millions with Albuquerque legislators for new fire engines and equipment, and helped pass the state law to ensure our firefighters and first responders can get care for PTSD. (It was, in fact, my first bill signed into law with Rep. Armstrong.) Since day one, the safety of our communities has been at the forefront of our work, and I am so humbled and grateful to stand with our firefighters every day as they are on the front lines keeping us safe!
We want to welcome all of the Sailors and Marines home from the USS Abraham Lincoln. We know that Thank You is not enough for the service and sacrifices you’ve made—including those no Service Member should ever have to endure. It must never happen again. We are grateful to you, your families and all who serve. It’s time to end this war now.
Every New Mexico kid deserves the chance to thrive. That starts with funding our schools, supporting great teachers, and bringing money back home to our communities! ❤️ We’ve made major investments across our state, from To’Hajiilee Community School to Mescalero Apache Head Start and the Pueblo of Sandia Child Development Center. From bringing home millions for new schools at To’Hajillee, early education centers at Sandia Pueblo, Ruidoso, Mescalero and Albuquerque, funding for CNM and UNM, leading legislation for school meals in New Mexico, and bills in Congress and the Legislature to help make New Mexico the first state in the nation to provide universal early education and free college—supporting our students, our educators and our schools is at the heart of our work.
