Over five centuries ago, Christopher Columbus embarked on a journey that would change the world forever. Today, we honor his legacy and the spirit of exploration that helped shape our great nation. Happy Columbus Day! https://t.co/27g2X15dl6
America’s farmers are the backbone of our nation. Every day, they put in long hours to feed our families, fuel our economy, and keep America moving. Today, we thank these hardworking men and women for their dedication and commitment to help feed our nation. Happy National Farmers Day!
Thanks to Hospital Sisters Health System for showing me around St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in O’Fallon! Quality healthcare close to home is something every Southern Illinois family deserves. I’m grateful for the hardworking doctors, nurses, and staff who dedicate themselves to caring for our communities.
Congratulations to the Murphysboro Lady Blue Devils softball team on their 5-3 win to take 3rd place in the Southern Illinois Junior High School Athletic Association Class L State Tournament! Your hard work, determination, and teamwork has made our community very proud! https://t.co/tIT5ti64du
Spent some time with the St. Louis Army Corps of Engineers to get updated on ongoing projects in the St. Louis district. From protecting our communities against flooding to keeping our waterways open for commerce, their work is critical to Southern Illinois. I’ll keep working with them to strengthen our infrastructure and protect the families and businesses that depend on it!
Enjoyed riding around Lawrence County with the Lawrence County Industrial Development Council! We stopped at MidAmerica Air Center and Red Hill Raceway, and even caught up with some farmers from Bridgeport along the way. Nothing beats getting out and hearing directly from folks who keep Southern Illinois moving.
Great meeting with the folks at Mid-American Air Center in Lawrence County! The Air Center is a critical transportation asset for the region, attracting businesses, creating jobs, and driving economic growth. I’ll continue working with local leaders to ensure the Air Center has the support and resources it needs to grow and succeed.

I enjoyed stopping by the Effingham Technology Center and visiting with educators from CORE Academy. Programs like these give young people hands-on experience to help prepare them for good-paying jobs right here at home. When we give our students the skills to succeed, we strengthen our workforce, our communities, and the future of Southern Illinois.
I visited with some great folks from the Effingham County Farm Bureau to hear directly from our local farmers about challenges and opportunities facing Illinois agriculture. No one knows better than farmers who work the land every day. That's why I'll continue fighting to fix California's Prop 12, because no other state should be dictating how we handle our livestock. I’m also fighting to prevent foreign adversaries from purchasing our farmland. Washington should be working to make their lives easier, not harder.
Every state is a border state when drug traffickers and criminals can exploit a broken immigration system. We saw the consequences under Joe Biden. Today, we’re seeing a 73% increase in CBP drug seizures and a 56% drop in fentanyl trafficking. @POTUS is keeping his promises of securing the border and protecting the safety of Americans.
I appreciated sitting down with leaders from Pinckneyville Community Hospital to discuss rural health care. Our rural hospitals are lifelines for communities across Southern Illinois, which is why I proudly voted to create the Rural Health Transformation Program. This $50 billion initiative invests in our smaller communities by strengthening access to treatments and improving the technology infrastructure in our rural hospitals.
Great crowd at Casey High School’s @TPUSA event last night! It’s refreshing to hear from students who are engaged, asking questions, and taking an interest in the future of our country. I’m always encouraged to see young people getting involved and making their voices heard. Thanks to Owen and the Casey High School TPUSA chapter for having me!
Three years ago, barbaric Hamas terrorists carried out a horrific attack against Israel, murdering over 1,200 innocent people — including 49 Americans. We remember the innocent lives stolen that day and the families forever changed by this act of terror. Three years later, our message remains the same: America stands with Israel, and we will never surrender to terror.
Farmers all over the country work hard every day to feed our families and keep America moving. @USDA's new Farmers First website highlights the wins in the Working Families Tax Cuts law to support producers, keep family farms going strong, and deliver a stronger safety net. Take a look and see what these changes mean for farmers in Southern Illinois and across the country. https://t.co/w87EqF6a6U
Enjoyed a working lunch with some great county leaders while I was in Effingham today. Thanks to Board Chairman Josh Douthit, Sheriff Paul Kuhns, and Coroner Kim Rhodes for taking the time to discuss issues facing our communities. #IL12 https://t.co/QBxma509gH
Last week, I had a great meeting with Mariah Harle, founder of Beacon Rock Mission, to hear more about her vision for supporting adults with intellectual and development disabilities. Projects like Mariah’s empower our residents with meaningful work and independent living, while stimulating local economic growth through new career opportunities.
Congratulations to the Jackson Co. GOP for organizing an awesome Lincoln Day Dinner this past Saturday in Murphysboro. We have a great slate of hardworking Republicans ready to move Jackson Co. in the right direction. They need your support and your vote on or before Nov. 3rd! https://t.co/gCc8b1BR6U
Biden’s tax code made it harder to build and invest here at home. I was proud to support the Working Families Tax Cuts because it rewards businesses that invest in American workers, American innovation, and American manufacturing. We should be making it easier to build in America, not harder.
We are officially one month away from Election Day! Vote Republican to prevent the spread of socialism!

Fifty years ago, Illinois’ own, Congressman Henry Hyde, stood up for a simple principle: federal taxpayer dollars shouldn’t be used to fund abortions. His amendment has shaped federal policy ever since. On this 50th anniversary of the Hyde Amendment, I’m proud to remember his legacy and remain committed to continuing to fight to defend life.
Reliable access to clean, safe drinking water is something every Southern Illinoisan should be able to count on. I was proud to secure a $1 million grant for the Robinson Palestine Water Treatment Plant to make long-overdue upgrades to an aging water infrastructure that many local families depend upon for the water they use every day.
