25 years ago today, Americans watched in horror as al-Queda terrorists attacked our nation. Thousands were killed and wounded in this unprovoked aggression. The assailants who carried out and planned these attacks were no less than pure evil. Like most Americans, I remember the fear and panic of that day vividly. I also remember the acts of pure heroism by first responders and everyday citizens. Today I join in the pledge to never forget 9/11 and the lives lost to this tragedy.

Press Release
Rep. Rogers Applauds House Passage of the FY27 NDAA with Key Wins for the State of Alabama

WASHINGTON – House Armed Services Committee Chairman Mike Rogers (AL-03) released a statement praising the House passage of H.R. 8800, The National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2027 (FY27 NDAA). “Our national security depends on a ready, capable, and well-equipped fighting force backed by a robust and innovative defense industrial base. The FY27 NDAA delivers that. This is a strong bill that builds on President Trump’s Peace Through Strength agenda, supports servicemembers and military families, and gives our warfighters the resources they need to fight and win. Peace Through Strength begins long before the battlefield—it is forged in America’s factories, depots, and shipyards. After years of underinvestment, the FY27 NDAA revitalizes America’s defense industrial base and gives our military the capacity to deter our adversaries and carry out President Trump’s Peace Through Strength Agenda." The following provisions included in the House-passed FY27 NDAA directly benefit the state of Alabama: Anniston Army Depot Access Control Point: $53,000,000 Consolidated Shipping and Receiving Facility: $5,400,000 Welding Shop: $4,940,000 Redstone Arsenal Space Force Operational Facility: $250,000,000 USSPACECOM HQ: $450,000,000 Authorized Air Force Construction: $2,050,000,000 Power Generation and Microgrid Installation: $90,000,000 Power Generation and Microgrid Investment Program: $90,000,000 Maxwell Air Force Base Maxwell Elementary/Middle School Addition: $44,000,000 42d Medical Group: Prohibition on Discontinuing Educational and Developmental Intervention Services Military Housing Privatization Initiative Restructure for Air Education and Training Command Group II: $65,000,000 Defense Agencies' military construction authorization for projects at Maxwell Air Force Base: $44,000,000 Birmingham Army Reserve Center/Army Maintenance Support Activity/Land Acquisition: $57,000,000 Fort Rucker UH-60 Blackhawk UH-60 Blackhawk M Model (MYP) New Procurement: $289,257,000 Blackhawk Product Improvement Program: $35,147,000 CH-47 Chinook CH-47 Helicopter New Procurement: $591,645,000 CH-47 Cargo Helicopter Modifications: $108,408,000 MH-47 Chinook Procurement of MH-47 Chinook helicopters for special operations aviation: $168,411,000 Chinook Product Improvement Program: $7,277,000 UH-72 Lakota Utility Helicopter Modifications: $125,013,000 Background: The FY27 NDAA: Revitalizes the Defense Industrial Base Implements President Trump’s Peace Through Strength Agenda Improves Servicemembers’ Quality of Life Restores Lethal Capabilities Strengthens American Deterrence Eliminates Waste, Fraud, and Abuse to Save $30 Billion in Taxpayer Dollars Codifies More than 65 of President Trump’s Executive Orders and Legislative Proposals Read more here. ###
