“We've come to a point where we have $2,500 drones that are truly threatening multi-hundred million, if not billion-dollar assets.” I warned about this in @HASCRepublicans more than a year ago, and it's a big reason I introduced my American Drone Manufacturing Dominance Act. China dominates the commercial drone market, and in Texas alone, 879 of the 966 drones registered to police and sheriff's departments in 2024 were made by Chinese manufacturer DJI. My bill would help get those drones out of American law enforcement, invest $1.2 billion in domestic drone manufacturing using tariff revenue, and ensure those factories can also produce systems for our military. When a $2,500 drone can threaten a billion-dollar asset, the country that can build these systems at scale has an enormous advantage, and I'm determined to make sure that's America.

Early voting starts tomorrow in North Carolina! I'm proud of what I've been able to accomplish for #NC10 over the last two years, and there's still plenty of work ahead. Early voting runs through October 31, so make a plan to get out and vote! Find your early voting location: https://t.co/vWrsfW8Z2h

North Carolina's average household electric bill has climbed from about $118 a month in 2020 to nearly $160 in 2026, and Duke Energy projects electricity demand across its Carolina systems could grow another 16% to nearly 60% by 2040. We need more reliable power to keep up, which is why I introduced the Next-Generation Geothermal Research and Development Act, which has now passed the House. The bill would help American companies develop technology to drill deeper underground, capture the Earth's natural heat, and turn it into electricity that runs 24/7, potentially unlocking up to 90 gigawatts of power nationwide. That's roughly the generating capacity of 90 large nuclear reactors, and expanding that kind of dependable power could help limit future increases in electric bills for North Carolina families while keeping electricity affordable for manufacturers in Hickory, Statesville, and across #NC10.

A life sentence is the right outcome, but SIX years to get there is an indictment of the system itself. Last year, I listened to Mary Collins’ grandmother testify at a @JudiciaryGOP field hearing in Charlotte about the murder of her 20-year-old granddaughter, who was stabbed more than 130 times. Her family spent years waiting for a trial while defendants in the case were released on bond. No family should have to watch the justice system move faster to release murder defendants than to hold them accountable.

Imagine having to replace a $40,000 system in your car every time a $6 knob breaks. That's essentially what the Army has been dealing with for 20 years. A tiny part on a Black Hawk helicopter breaks, and taxpayers get stuck with a massive bill because the contractor controls the parts and repair rights. I questioned the Secretary of the Army about this earlier this year because it's absurd that we have some of the best military mechanics in the world, yet we're paying contractors a fortune for repairs our own troops could make in hours. As a former Green Beret, I know what it means when critical equipment goes down. So I helped spearhead a bipartisan military Right to Repair provision that we successfully included in the House-passed annual defense authorization bill, which sets the rules for how our military operates. The bill still needs to become law, but the principle is simple. If taxpayers paid for the equipment, our troops should be able to fix it. Nobody should be getting rich off keeping American helicopters grounded.

⏱️ TWO MINUTE TOWN HALL This week, I want to talk about how buying your first home became a 40-year-old milestone while Wall Street buys houses by the hundreds, and what we can do to put homeownership back within reach for working families. https://t.co/rFWg2xjkyI

A major reckoning for an IT outsourcing industry that has sought nearly 3 million foreign workers since 2009. The American taxpayer should never be subsidizing a system that helps replace American workers.

Proud to bring @HASCRepublicans Chairman @RepMikeRogersAL to #NC10 to visit @corvid_tec in Mooresville! Corvid is doing incredible work in missile defense and hypersonics, with a $30 million expansion bringing even more investment and jobs to our district. I want the people leading our national defense decisions to know exactly what North Carolina brings to the table, and there’s no better way than seeing it firsthand.

Rural North Carolina has spent years losing healthcare providers while families drive farther and wait longer for treatment. I voted to create the $50 billion Rural Health Transformation Program to start reversing that, and now $17 million is coming to North Carolina for three new mental health clinics, opioid treatment in five counties, and crisis teams expanding into six more.

The promise of America has always been that hard work can build a better life and open more doors for the next generation. I was glad to join more than 100 Hispanic leaders and community members at @LIBREinitiative’s Capitol Connect in Concord to talk about how we keep that promise alive, from lowering costs and growing small businesses to making homeownership more attainable.

Three years ago today, Hamas carried out one of the deadliest terrorist attacks in modern history, murdering more than 1,200 innocent people and taking 251 hostage. Today, we remember the victims and their families. October 7 remains a sobering reminder of the brutality of terrorism, the danger of antisemitism, and the importance of confronting both wherever they take hold.

The federal government was prepared to send $175 million of your money to people who were already dead, a staggering example of how badly Washington can lose track of taxpayer dollars. @USTreasury caught those payments by screening $3.7 trillion before the money went out, and the same fraud prevention system is now available across 99% of federal programs, up from just 4% last year. Americans should not have to accept billions lost to fraud as the cost of doing business in Washington.

I have two daughters, and I wouldn’t send either of them to study in China. When a government can invite an American scholar into the country and then turn around and jail him on espionage charges, parents should pay attention. Xi may want 100,000 American students in China. I’d rather see 100,000 more young Americans learning how to outbuild and outcompete the CCP right here at home.

I stopped by their facility to see the operation firsthand and meet some of the people who have kept production running in Iredell County for nearly 30 years. Pretty remarkable range of work happening under one roof.

These are the messages that make this job matter. A veteran whose disability claim was finally decided in his favor. A family who got an $8,500 IRS refund after a year of getting nowhere. A constituent who can get to his cancer appointments. A farmer who left our conversation with new hope. Government should work for the people it serves. My team and I take that responsibility personally, and we’ll keep fighting to get answers, solve problems, and deliver for the people of #NC10.

I’ve been sounding the alarm on drones for a while, and the problem is moving faster than we are. The technology has moved incredibly fast, the barrier to entry is incredibly low, and our ability to defend crowded public spaces has not kept pace. I’m glad Jacksonville is taking it seriously. We need a lot more of this.

Nearly 3 million North Carolinians live in rural communities, but too many still have to take off work, find someone to watch the kids, and spend hours on the road just to see a doctor. The Rural Health Transformation Program we created in Congress is now delivering $20 million to North Carolina to expand telehealth, modernize local providers, and bring more care closer to home. Living outside a major city shouldn’t mean planning your entire day around a doctor’s appointment.
