Diesel is $6.31 a gallon because of Trump’s illegal war with Iran. While you feel pain at the pump, Big Oil has benefited, raking in $125 billion in profits this year. This war must end now.

Inflation is up. The cost of gas and groceries are soaring. Inland Empire families are paying more for everything. This Trump economy has been a total failure.

Today is day 158 of gas above $4. Americans are paying for Trump’s reckless war of choice every time they fill up their tank.

I’ve been proud to deliver nearly $9 million in funding for affordable housing projects in the Inland Empire. A stable home is where everything starts, and it’s a pathway for our neighbors to succeed. Receiving the Housing Advocate of the Year award from @national_core was a true honor.

Trump has made MILLIONS off his gas and oil stocks since starting his reckless war with Iran. His sons are cashing in on defense contracts and Big Oil is raking in record profits. Their priorities are clear: they get rich while you pay more at the pump.

Everything from gas to groceries is more expensive right now because of failed Republican policies. When students are hungry, it’s harder to focus in class and finish homework. I’m grateful students at @CSUSBNews have the Obsershaw DEN to turn to when times get tough. https://t.co/gW4119rZgk

Tribal Nations and Indigenous communities are central to the California story and to the story of America. On Indigenous Peoples’ Day, we honor our country’s first people and celebrate their traditions and endless contributions to our nation.

I was on the January 6th Committee. I saw first-hand Cassidy Hutchinson’s courage and bravery in testifying about how Donald Trump incited a violent mob to attack the Capitol. Trump’s Department of Justice is now orchestrating a revenge campaign on Ms. Hutchinson. Once again, the president is more concerned with imprisoning his critics than lowering costs for American families.

Reports that ICE agents are being told to “go after anybody” in California are alarming. ICE is violently terrorizing our neighborhoods. House Democrats will continue to demand oversight over this out of control agency. Accountability is coming.

Press Release
Rep. Aguilar Highlights Importance of Food Assistance Programs for Cal State San Bernardino Students as Grocery Prices Rise

Faced with rising grocery costs, more CSUSB students are turning to the on-campus food pantry or enrolling in food assistance benefits SAN BERNARDINO, CA – Today, Rep. Pete Aguilar (CA-33) held a press conference highlighting the impact of rising food prices on students and the importance of food assistance programs. This fall semester, 2,200 students at California State University, San Bernardino (CSUSB) have used the on-campus food pantry and student applications for CalFresh, California’s version of SNAP, have more than doubled since last year. Across the country, people are struggling to afford the skyrocketing prices of gas, groceries, housing and electricity because of Trump’s and Republicans’ policies. Last year, Republicans’ Big Ugly Bill kicked more than 5 million Americans, including more than 340,000 Californians, off their food assistance benefits in order to give a tax break to billionaires. For CSUSB students, rising costs mean cutting back spending or relying more on food assistance programs and campus food pantries to avoid going hungry. You can watch the full video of the press conference here and find photos from the event above and here. “Students are already juggling classes, homework, housing and even jobs and childcare, so finding enough to eat shouldn’t be another concern,” said Rep. Pete Aguilar. “That’s why CalFresh and the Obershaw DEN food pantry are so important. When you don’t have to worry about your next meal, you can focus in class and have energy for everything else college offers. Even after Trump and Republicans cut millions of Americans’ food assistance, I’m grateful that CSUSB students have somewhere to turn to so they don’t go hungry. But in the wealthiest nation on earth, this shouldn’t be the case. I’ll keep fighting to bring down costs and protect CalFresh so Inland Empire students get the meals they need to do well in school and graduate.”

Three years ago, Hamas carried out a horrific act of terror and murdered more than 1,200 Israelis, including women and children, in the deadliest day for Jews since the Holocaust. Today, we mourn the lives lost and stand with survivors and families whose lives were forever changed. We must continue to work to bring lasting peace and security to Israelis and Palestinians and stop antisemitism at home and abroad.
