Thank you to the @ZeroEyesAI team and the @UNCGPolice for showing me ZeroEyes’ state-of-the-art weapons detection technology. ZeroEyes’ technology helps catch visible firearms and alert authorities quickly, without using facial recognition or going after law-abiding gun owners. I’ll always work to keep our schools safe and support our law enforcement officers in Congress.
Moore County is a wonderful place to live, and we want to keep it that way! These are exciting times for our community because of the many defense-related companies that are starting here and moving here to benefit from our quality of life and proximity to Ft. Bragg. I was honored to participate in the discussion today with Moore 100 to make sure we foster the right kind of opportunity to make our community stronger and deliver the future technology and advanced manufacturing needs of our warfighters in the future!
Today we celebrate the 251st birthday of the U.S. Navy. Thank you to the men and women who serve in the Navy, and to the families who support them!🇺🇸 https://t.co/8Ttqr445l3
“Monday Night Lights” at Cannon Park! https://t.co/NpYipBe8bC
Always a great time at the Randolph County GOP’s annual Petty Fish Fry at the home of “The King,” Richard Petty! Enjoyed catching up with so many friends and familiar faces, including my friend @TimBurchett! https://t.co/KPeh6X0KBI
James Blair and Chris LaCivita are two of the most effective and loyal advisors President Trump has ever had. Not once has either one not answered the phone or been there when I needed anything for our House Republican team. This is a distraction, let’s get back to work.
Tomorrow is the LAST DAY to register to vote online or by mail. We cannot afford to go backward and put the failed policies of the Democrats back in charge. This election matters. Our freedom, our families, and the future of our country are on the line. Make sure you’re registered. Make sure your family is registered. And make sure you’re ready to vote. Don’t wait. Don’t assume. Check your registration today and be ready to make your voice heard. If you’re unsure whether you’re registered or need to register, visit: https://t.co/2vH3toeDbb
When the Fayetteville veterans home closed, 85 veterans, many with dementia and other disabilities, were forced to move, some over two hours from home. I'm SO proud that my bill to clear the way for a new veterans home near Fort Bragg has passed Congress! https://t.co/skoWevpNDZ
Liberals love talking about looking out for the little guy. Unless it hurts their own portfolios, that is. That's why I passed the bill to ban stock trading by Members of Congress and root out corruption. The American people deserve better. I’m fighting every day to protect the American Dream, lower costs, keep our communities safe, and make sure North Carolina has a stronger future. This election matters. Make a plan to vote, we need every freedom-loving American to help keep the House red. Let’s get it done!
Today we remember the more than 1,200 innocent men, women, and little children who were brutally tortured, raped, and slaughtered by radical Islamic terrorists trained and funded by Iran on October 7th. Three years later, their loved ones are still grieving, and we pray for them. Never again. This kind of terror is only possible in a world where ignorance, antisemitism, and hatred are allowed to grow unchecked—and radical extremism is met with appeasement. Every one of us has a responsibility to stand up and to speak out. Israel must always have the right and the means to defend itself. America will stand with our ally today and every day. God bless the victims, their families, the Jewish people, and the state of Israel.
Moore County Airport supports a lot of businesses and the good-paying jobs that come with them. Spent time there with FCC Commissioner @OliviaTrustyFCC talking about our work to improve cell signal at the airport. We want those jobs and businesses to stay in Moore County, and reliable coverage is part of making that happen.
Great to be at Ed's Gun Shop in Vass yesterday as @NRA kicks off its Gun Bus Battleground Tour in North Carolina! North Carolinians value the Second Amendment, and I will always defend it in Congress. https://t.co/smCaWnPcAm
Spent the morning at Union Pines High School with FCC Commissioner @OliviaTrustyFCC! We started off speaking with a civics class, and then we sat down with the principal and Moore County Schools about why good internet matters for students. They're doing a great job using technology to get our kids ready for 21st century jobs!
Subscribe ABERDEEN, N.C. – Today, U.S. Representative Richard Hudson (NC-09), Chairman of the Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Telecommunications, hosted Federal Communications Commission Chairman Brendan Carr in Moore County for visits highlighting American drone manufacturing and modern emergency communications. Hudson and Carr toured Dracoe’s manufacturing facility in Aberdeen before visiting the Moore County 911 Center, where they met with local first responders and saw Next Generation 911 technology in action. “From building American-made drones right here near Fort Bragg to giving our first responders the latest technology when somebody calls 911, Moore County is doing some incredible work,” said Rep. Hudson. “I was proud to bring Chairman Carr here to what we like to call the Silicon Valley of American Drone Dominance to see firsthand what the FCC can do to facilitate the development of an American drone industry.” “It was great to join Chairman Hudson in Moore County today, to visit with some of North Carolina’s dedicated defense manufacturers and 911 dispatchers. Thanks to Chairman Hudson’s strong leadership in Congress, the cutting edge of U.S. drone technology is being unleashed right in the heart of central North Carolina, which means more jobs and opportunity for so many hardworking Tar Heels,” said Chairman Carr. At Dracoe, Hudson and Carr toured the veteran-owned company’s manufacturing operation and met with employees to discuss the growing domestic drone industry and the FCC’s role in emerging drone technology. Hudson and Carr then visited the Moore County 911 Center, where they met with Sheriff Ronnie Fields, public safety officials, dispatchers, and county leaders to see how Moore County is using Next Generation 911 technology. Background Dracoe designs and manufactures small drones and components used for defense and counter-drone training. The U.S. Army evaluated a Dracoe target-management capability during a counter-drone exercise earlier this year. The visit also comes as the FCC takes steps affecting the domestic drone market. In December, the Commission added foreign-produced drones and critical components to its Covered List, generally preventing new covered models from receiving the equipment authorization required for import and sale in the United States. Previously authorized drones are not affected. NG911 replaces aging 911 infrastructure with modern, internet-based technology capable of supporting better location information, text and multimedia, stronger cybersecurity, and improved communication between emergency call centers and first responders. Hudson is leading the bipartisan Next Generation 9-1-1 Act with Rep. Troy Carter (LA-02). The legislation would establish a federal grant program to help states, tribes, and local 911 centers upgrade outdated systems and support deployment, maintenance, cybersecurity, training, and public education. The visits also come as the FCC considers a broader review of the nation’s 911 framework and how federal policy should evolve as emergency communications technology advances. Moore County has operated on North Carolina’s Next Generation 911 network since 2021 and also offers Text-to-911 for people who cannot safely make a voice call.
Subscribe WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Representative Richard Hudson (NC-09) shared the following statement honoring the life and legacy of former North Carolina First Lady Dottie Martin, wife of his friend and mentor, Governor Jim Martin: “Renee and I were saddened to learn of the passing of the extraordinary Dottie Martin, former First Lady of North Carolina. We are praying for my friend and mentor, Governor Jim Martin and the entire Martin family. "Dottie Martin lived a life of significance with a style and grace that was unmatched. She transformed the role of First Lady as a champion for protecting children and combating child abuse, to fighting substance abuse, to her work on her beloved wildflower program. "Dottie Martin was ahead of her time, and I fondly think of her often as I travel the highways of North Carolina and see the beautiful wildflowers planted across our state. Martin left this state more beautiful than she found it, and she left an impression on every life she touched. Dottie Martin will be missed, but her life and legacy will never be forgotten,” said Rep. Hudson. The family will hold a funeral at Davidson College Presbyterian Church at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3. The family encourages those attending the funeral who wish to bring flowers to instead donate to the Wildflower Program.

Every second matters when you call 911. It was great to host Chairman @BrendanCarrFCC in Guilford County yesterday to see North Carolina's cutting-edge Next Generation 911 technology and meet with some of the dispatchers and law enforcement officials that make it work. Thanks for coming, and thanks for your leadership on this issue, Chairman Carr!
Great stop in Alamance County yesterday! Visited with local law enforcement, then got a tour of Alamance County Central Communications to see their Next Generation 911 system in action. Thanks to @BrendanCarrFCC for joining! https://t.co/UvgS4d48NO
Great to see Sheriff Terry Johnson in Alamance County yesterday. We swapped hats for a minute—jury’s still out on who wore it better! Grateful for him and his department's hard work every single day. https://t.co/OZQwq8g6dD
Great visit to Dracoe in Aberdeen today with Chairman @BrendanCarrFCC! This veteran-owned company is building drones thirty minutes from Fort Bragg, and working to bring critical drone manufacturing back to America instead of relying on China. Proud to have innovators like this in our district!
Today, Senate Democrats had TWO chances to do something for regular people. They failed at both. First, they blocked the Stop Insider Trading Act, a bill to stop politicians from cashing in on the stock market like Nancy Pelosi has for years. Then, they blocked a bill to ensure companies building data centers are the ones paying for their power instead of hardworking American families. Democrats want higher bills for YOU and bigger stock portfolios for THEM. Remember that in November.
The American people are FED UP with politicians getting rich off insider stock trades. But Senate Democrats just voted to keep the gravy train going. They BLOCKED the Stop Insider Trading Act, a bill I cosponsored that bans members of Congress and their families from trading stocks. The American people deserve better than this!
For 50 years, the Hyde Amendment has stopped your tax dollars from funding abortion, and it's saved an estimated 2.6 million innocent lives because of it. I have a 100% pro-life voting record, and I will never stop fighting for the unborn or defending Hyde. https://t.co/iHN1KkZ3Jg
When the Fayetteville veterans home closed, dozens of veterans were displaced and forced to relocate, including many with dementia and other disabilities. Yesterday, the Senate unanimously passed my bill with @RepKnott to clear the way for a NEW veterans home near Fort Bragg. It now heads to President Trump's desk for signature. Thank you to @SenTedBudd and the rest of my Senate colleagues for acting quickly to get this done!
Before Congress, I was a waiter in college, and I remember exactly what those tips meant to me at the end of a long shift. Proud to have fought for No Tax on Tips through the Working Families Tax Cuts, putting money back in the pockets of North Carolina's servers, bartenders, hairstylists, and every hardworking tipped worker out there!
