As an avid outdoorsman and hunter, I appreciate programs like Morgantown’s Urban Archery Deer Hunt that put venison on the tables of families in need. With over 8 tons donated to local food pantries, this is West Virginia at its best—neighbors helping neighbors! https://t.co/Jk66yZWlCG
Saint Teresa of Avila reminds us that “those who were nearest to Christ our Lord were those who had the greatest trials.” This is no doubt true of @Pontifex. Please join Mina and me in praying for the Holy Father as he begins this battle to defeat cancer 🙏
Truth. Thank you @CardinalDolan and Happy Columbus Day!!
Christopher Columbus is a great Catholic explorer and an American hero. He brought the light of Christ to the New World and changed the course of history forever when he discovered what would become the greatest country that world has ever known. Today, all Americans should all be proud to say: Happy Columbus Day!
Today is the feast of Pope St. John XXIII. As a Vatican diplomat in WWII Turkey, he helped thousands of Jews escape the Nazis. In 1962, his appeal for peace helped ease the Cuban Missile Crisis. He opened Vatican II 64 years ago today. Pray for us and for the Church! https://t.co/CKN819a8am
Please join Mina and me in praying for a successful procedure and swift healing for the Holy Father @Pontifex 🙏 🙏 🙏
Let’s go, Mountaineers! It’s Homecoming in Morgantown and the Coal Rush in full effect! It’s time to show up and show out Mountaineers! Rooting for @WVUfootball to bring home a big W against Arizona today. Country roads, take us home to victory!
Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen. https://t.co/CAvyqi7C8A
Pitt being one of the universities investigated here is surprising to no one in WV.
I enjoyed visiting Theo Yianni’s Greek Restaurant in Weirton and spending some time with the owner, Shawn! Thank you, Shawn, for your hospitality and for being part of the local business community that makes our district such a great place to live and work! https://t.co/kGYzMK0Ssd
Yesterday, I had a great meeting with the @BDCofNP at their new headquarters in Weirton! In my role on the @HouseAppropsGOP, I’m always looking for opportunities to bring federal investment and jobs to West Virginia. https://t.co/BoX7KrLsBH
Yesterday, I presented $1.5M in Community Project Funding to Weston for critical sewer improvements along Corridor H. Water and sewer access are critical to driving economic development and good-paying jobs in the region. Watch my interview with @WBOY12News ⬇️ https://t.co/BCStYepFG3
From Katherine Johnson and Chuck Yeager to @RealHomerHickam and the Rocket Boys of Cape Coalwood, WV has always been at the forefront of the final frontier. I'm thrilled we are competing to host the Space Academy. No state would work harder to make it a success! https://t.co/bv6lU5nqWd
HUGE win for the American worker. Microsoft and Adobe were just suspended from PERM, which lets companies sponsor H-1Bs for green cards. Thank you @POTUS and @VP. Foreign workers are temporary guests. They shoud never have a path to permanently replacing American workers. Let's END the H-1B SCAM for good!
October is Family History Month! One of the things that makes West Virginia so special is how many Mountaineers can trace their lineage back for generations through these hills, many even before our state was founded in 1863. The Moores are no different. I'm proud to be an eighth-generation West Virginian. For me and my family, the Mountain State will always be home!
One of my first acts in Congress was to work with the Trump Administration to keep @NIOSH’s Morgantown facility and critical programs for coal miners like the Black Lung testing and respirator research programs from being shutdown. Yesterday, I had the chance to tour NIOSH Morgantown and see the Black Lung Screening Program firsthand. I’ll never stop fighting for our coal miners and the programs that keep them safe.
Yesterday, I was proud to deliver $1.5M in Community Project Funding to Weston for essential sewer expansion along Corridor H. This will help make the area site-ready, attract new businesses, and create good-paying jobs across Central WV. Watch my interview with @WDTV5News ⬇️ https://t.co/kgmeHgAxwv
Today marks the beginning of the 40th Salem Apple Butter Festival in Harrison County, running through October 10! Featuring a parade, a pageant, and tons of delicious apple butter, it is a great fall event for Mountaineer families. Don't miss it! https://t.co/Bx6l9PEMOj
Today I visited @abrisatech to see firsthand the advanced glass manufacturing taking place right here in West Virginia. From defense and aviation to cutting-edge technology, our domestic manufacturers are helping keep America strong, secure, and competitive! https://t.co/HEvQpFcR2z
Huge news for West Virginia! I’m grateful to @POTUS and @FEMA for approving additional federal disaster Public Assistance for communities impacted by devastating flooding in late July in Barbour, Doddridge, Lewis, Pendleton, Pleasants, Randolph, Ritchie, Tucker, Tyler, Upshur and Wetzel Counties. Individual Assistance was also approved for mid August flooding in Fayette, Harrison, and Kanawha Counties! This is a critical step toward getting West Virginians back on their feet after these devastating summer storms.
College sports are a uniquely American tradition that bond us together. West Virginians will always remember when Pat White and Steve Slaton shocked the world against Georgia in the ‘06 Sugar Bowl, Joe Mazzulla’s heroics to upset Kentucky, Kevin Pittsnogle raining threes to take down Wake Forest, or the Mountaineers recent run through the NCAA baseball tournament that had the whole country singing Country Roads. But for years, uncertainly and inconsistency have ruled the college sports world to the detriment of West Virginia’s student athletes and our ability to compete. It’s time to fix college sports and ensure this great tradition remains strong. The Protect College Sports Act, which just passed the Senate, will bring much-needed stability, puts student athletes first, preserves scholarships, reins in conference realignment craziness, and preserves the traditions that make college sports so special. Let’s get this passed in the House!
Happy Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary! 455 years ago, the Christians of Europe asked Mary for victory. She answered at Lepanto, when the Holy League defeated the Ottomans who had terrorized Europe for decades. Christendom still needs its champions. Pray the Rosary today. https://t.co/rZwvXnXkXI
Washington, D.C. – Congressman Riley M. Moore secured $1.5 million in Community Project Funding for the City of Weston through his work on the House Appropriations Committee to support sewer improvements and expansion along Corridor H. Congressman Riley M. Moore released the following statement: “I’m proud to have secured $1.5 million for the City of Weston to make these critical sewer improvements and extend service along Corridor H. This investment will unlock the economic development potential of Corridor H to create good-paying jobs across Central West Virginia. I will continue working through the House Appropriations Committee to make sure West Virginia communities have the infrastructure they need to compete, grow, and create jobs.” The funding will help the City of Weston and its Sanitary Board make significant upgrades to its existing sewer system, including improvements to lift stations, while working to extend sewer service to areas along Corridor H between Weston and Buckhannon. The area along Route 33 and Corridor H has significant potential for economic growth and development, but the lack of available sewer infrastructure has limited the ability to attract new businesses and development. Several economic development opportunities have been lost because sewer service was unavailable. As Corridor H continues to open new opportunities for West Virginia communities, reliable utility infrastructure will be critical to ensuring Lewis County is prepared for future residential, commercial and industrial growth. ###
Three years ago today, Hamas launched the horrific October 7th terrorist attacks against Israel. 1,200 innocent people were slaughtered in an act of pure evil. Every single one of those souls was created in the image of God. As we remember the lives lost and continue praying for their souls, their deaths should serve as a reminder of the danger of radical Islamic terrorism and its fundamental incompatibility with Western civilization.
Today, I was proud to present $1.5 million in Community Project Funding to the City of Weston for critical sewer improvements and expansion along Corridor H. This funding will help unlock economic growth, attract businesses, and create good-paying jobs across Central West Virginia.
