New Haven apizza >>> Like many of you, I was raised on these slices. I declared New Haven the pizza capital of the U.S. in the congressional record, and we haven’t stopped recognizing that fact since! I will always honor Connecticut’s contributions to American culture. 🍕🍕 https://t.co/qyitCeEn8P

Paychecks can’t keep up with inflation driven by Trumps war of choice in Iran. More Americans are going to be living paycheck to paycheck. Simple as that.

Since 2020, thousands of CT residents have fallen into poverty and with costs going up, even more families are being stretched thin. Meanwhile, Republicans continue to cut funding from essential programs like Medicaid & SNAP. This crucial aid needs to flow, not go down. https://t.co/UViBg8XK1P

Young Americans are burdened with high costs. Finding a decent job just to make ends meet feels almost impossible for so many. I love seeing young voices come out to talk democracy, and I am so grateful for every one of them. I’m fighting for a future where they thrive. https://t.co/FYaPPIfFQI

This Columbus Day, I’m proud to honor the rich history & countless contributions of nearly 20 million Italian Americans across our nation. Italian Americans are an integral part of America’s diverse cultural fabric. I’m proud to carry on the traditions & values passed down by our ancestors every day, in my home & in my work in Congress.

Today we celebrate Indigenous Peoples' Day. We recognize and honor the people who were here before us, the dark history they've faced, & the contributions they've made and continue to make to the United States.

Trump is clearly putting corporate interests above the health of Americans - look no further than the Administration’s support for pesticide liability. I co-lead a bill to prevent that. We should be focused on making the food we eat safer & healthier.

We’re in hurricane season, and communities count on FEMA when disaster strikes. But Trump has weakened the agency’s ability to respond when help is needed most. When Hurricane Isaias hits, will the Gulf Coast be left to fend for themselves?

ICE continues to terrorize our communities with zero accountability; this time in New York, they shot a man with his 5-year-old child in the car. ICE must be reined in before more senseless violence continues. ICE must not get another dime until reforms. The violence must end.

President Trump's tariff policies, tax cuts for billionaires, and war of choice in Iran have led to high costs and less money in Americans’ pockets. He has a trifecta in Washington. He has used it to enrich himself and his friends – not to help Americans with affordability

Working Latinas are paid just 53 cents for every dollar paid to non-Hispanic white men. Latinas can’t afford to lose $33,370 to the wage gap each year. We must pass my Paycheck Fairness Act to fight for #LatinaEqualPay, because an economy that exploits working women harms us all.

DeLauro Calls for End to West Bank Settlements, Violence

Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (CT-03) issued the following statement on the ongoing siege of a Palestinian’s family’s home in Wadi Rahim, in the South Hebron Hills of the occupied West Bank: “No family should be held captive in their own home. Yusuf Shanaran and his wife, and four of their children ages 8 to 13, have been trapped inside their house for two days. Settlers built an illegal outpost on the only road to the home and have kept them from leaving, even to get food. According to reports, masked settlers have set fire to four vehicles, burned the family’s water pump, smashed their solar panels, attacked them and their home with stones, and attempted to set it on fire. Yusuf and his wife were injured. “The illegal outpost was established about six months ago, and has been taken down and rebuilt again and again. About a month ago, the Israeli military declared the areas a closed military zone and barred Israelis from entering. The settlers have ignored that order, and the authorities have not enforced it. After this week’s attack, no settler has been arrested. “The Government of Israel has a responsibility to protect this family and their home. It must enforce its own military order and hold those responsible for violence accountable. The Trump Administration should press for that accountability and make clear that the United States opposes settler violence and the expansion of illegal settlements and outposts. These actions endanger Palestinians families, undermine Israel’s own security, and push a two-state solution further out of reach. “A just and lasting peace, with security and dignity for Israelis and Palestinians alike, cannot be built while families live in fear in their own homes.”
