SIXTEEN STRAIGHT MONTHS OF ZERO RELEASES AT THE BORDER. 💥 Same border. Same desert. Different leadership. We backed Border Patrol, funded the wall and ended catch and release. Fewer crossings means fewer cartels trafficking human beings and less fentanyl flowing into our communities. Turns out enforcing the law works.

Attorney General @ToddBlanche came to South Carolina to talk about why law enforcement (and the public) need Logan’s Law, a bill I filed with Senator Lindsey Graham and now sponsored by Senator Darline Graham. Logan Federico's accused killer, who had more than 25 felony convictions (37 total convictions), was back on the streets while he should have been serving over 150 years behind bars! He should NEVER have been out of jail, but soft-on-crime prosectors and court officials didn’t check his record thoroughly, releasing this man back into our South Carolina community. Logan's Law builds a national database of violent offenders that every law enforcement official (and the public) can use. It also shines a light soft-on-crime prosecutors and judges, showing the public their lenient plea deals and sentences. Logan's dad, Steve, is right. Logan’s Law won't just save one life. It'll save thousands.

Fentanyl is killing our children and destroying communities. That’s why we need the force of the federal government keeping our borders secure, enforcing the law, and stopping the cartels. I voted for bills like the HALT Fentanyl Act and Stop Chinese Fentanyl Act to hold bad actors like China accountable and increase the criminal penalties for fentanyl trafficking. We can’t turn a blind eye to this dangerous drug as it upends lives and ravages communities.

The Pee Dee Regional Surface Water Treatment Plant is the heart of our region's water infrastructure, providing clean water to homes, schools, hospitals and businesses across the Pee Dee. I'm proud to have secured $2.5 million to help the City of Florence expand it. I toured the plant and met with the city leaders who partnered with my team to make this happen. This funding will boost capacity for a growing area and keep water flowing through hurricanes and extreme weather. When disaster strikes, no family, hospital or first responder should have to question their water supply.
It was a pleasure to sit down with leaders from across Georgetown County. We discussed a wide range of issues impacting the South Strand & the role a strong county, state, and federal partnership plays in helping us solve them. We saw the strength of that partnership firsthand in the $6.5 million my office secured to help with inner harbor dredging. Thank you, Georgetown County leadership for meeting with me. Three years ago today, the world watched in horror as Hamas terrorists invaded Israel and killed 1,200 innocent civilians. This was the largest mass murder of Jews in a single day since the Holocaust. 251 more Israelis were kidnapped that day. We remember the innocent lives lost that day. Those who were forced into captivity. And the resilience of the Israeli people to not turn a blind eye to terror. We will not forget. We stand with the people of Israel in their battle against antisemitism and terror.

A 7-year girl is dead after being stabbed in broad daylight in Chicago. Her perpetrator? Charged with assault in 2023. Released on probation. Arrested in 2024 for violating probation, committing assault AGAIN. How many innocent lives must be lost before we demand accountability? This tragedy was preventable.
