The YMCA is a fixture in communities across our nation, and here in the Third District, our local YMCA leaders help to strengthen our children's mental and physical health and provide quality facilities for members in our community to participate in recreation. I had a great meeting with Anderson YMCA CEO Kevin Osbourne to discuss the YMCA’s role in our community, the support it may need, and the development of our youth.

America’s manufacturing is booming. Because of President Trump and House Republicans’ pro-growth, pro manufacturing policies, places like the Third District are seeing more jobs and more productivity. We are bringing back American manufacturing jobs and making the things our country needs most right here at home.
I take great pride in wearing the uniform of the Air National Guard. Legislating and advocating for our servicemembers will always be at the forefront of my work in Congress. I sat down with the Acting Director of the Air National Guard, Major General Efferson, and the Deputy Director of the Air National Guard, Major General Terrell. We discussed a wide range of topics, including fighter recapitalization, the deployment of F-35As to South Carolina, servicemember quality of life, and much more. As one of just three serving members of the National Guard in Congress, I recognize this unique role and the opportunity to use my experience to strengthen our armed forces and improve the lives of our servicemembers.
It is painfully obvious that taxpayer dollars should not be used to fund abortions. On the 50th anniversary of the Hyde Amendment, I am grateful that our nation has remained committed to protecting taxpayers from being forced to subsidize abortion, and I will continue to do whatever I can to safeguard life at every opportunity. Life is a blessing that our nation should cherish and protect.

It is outrageous that suspected terrorists are back on the street within hours of their alleged plot being foiled. President Trump is right: America would never have let them go. British and American officials must identify those responsible and bring them to justice swiftly.
ICYMI: President Trump continues to cancel ridiculous and wasteful spending. It is painfully obvious taxpayers should not be footing the bill for these leftwing pet projects. Keep the cuts coming @realDonaldTrump
We want to create an environment for our defense companies to equip our warfighters with the best equipment in the world, just like the impressive fighting machine, the F-35 made in the USA. As a member of the Air National Guard and as a member of the Homeland Security Committee, I will always take the opportunity to advocate for those who keep our nation safe and for the industry that helps support their efforts - just as I’ve done with my bill that passed the House, the Made-in-America Defense Act. Part of that advocacy includes the bicameral letter @DarlineGrahamSC , and I authored a few days ago to the Secretary of the Air Force, advocating for F-35As to be deployed to South Carolina. Better tools means a better defense and a safer America.
As an avid Tiger fan, any day visiting @ClemsonUniv is a good day. On a recent visit, I met the new President, Benjamin Ayers. President Ayers has hit the ground running amid campus renovations, a new football season, and the start of a new academic year. I am excited for the future of Clemson and will continue working alongside the administration, faculty, and students to support the university’s continued success. GO TIGERS!
Getting these F-35s to South Carolina is extremely important to supporting our warfighters in the South Carolina Air National Guard. This is why I am proud to be the lead author from the House on this bicameral, bipartisan letter.
PSA: The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has lowered the level of Lake Hartwell due to seepage issues with the Clemson Saddle Dike. My heart is broken at the tragic news of the death of Cruz Ellenberg, a Sophomore at Pickens High School following a UTV accident. I join the entire upstate in mourning his loss and join in their prayers for his family, friends, classmates, and the entire community. Please keep all who knew him closely in your prayers.
My fight for the Second Amendment is just beginning, but I am proud to announce that I received an A+ Dean’s List rating on the National Shooting Sports Foundation Scorecard. @NSSF With a 100% record of supporting our Second Amendment rights this Congress, you can rest assured that I will continue being a leader for less government and more constitutional freedom. https://t.co/GkGsJ2bn3k
79 years after its founding, our Air Force continues to dominate the skies. From the Korean War to Operation Epic Fury, our Airmen define the battlefield and have delivered victory after victory. Happy Birthday to the U.S. Air Force! Aim High…Fly-Fight-Win! https://t.co/wHse4Np6ug
Every day, we should honor the brave Americans who were taken captive or remain missing in action. POW/MIA Recognition Day serves as an important reminder of the tremendous sacrifices they made in for all of us. To our POWs and MIAs: you are not forgotten. May God bless you, your families, and all those who continue to carry the weight of your sacrifice.
I was devasted to learn about the fires that destroyed six buildings in downtown Walhalla. I will keep the families who own these businesses, their employees and the community that relies on them in my prayers. I am confident the people of Walhalla will rally together to lift up their neighbors and rebuild these storefronts. Thank you to our first responders rushed to the scene to prevent future damage. https://t.co/ab2la4hMtQ
The Working Families Tax Cuts is providing a $167 million investment to help address longstanding barriers to healthcare in rural South Carolina. This funding will expand innovative care models, strengthen our healthcare workforce, and improve access to vital services for families across our state. South Carolina residents should be able to rely on quality care, no matter where they live.
Women for Gun Rights stopped by my office to talk about ways I can work to strengthen and protect our Constitutional right to bear arms. As a gun owner and supporter of our Second Amendment rights, you can always count on me to be a strong ally in Congress. It made my day to see that two young ladies were with them. Seeing young Americans get involved and take an active interest in how our Republic works gives me confidence in the future.
On the Science, Space, and Technlogy Committee, which I serve on in Washington, Republicans are hard at work fighting to lower energy costs, safeguard our national security, and support the manufacturing boom with safe and reliable nuclear energy America must dominate, and the future of American energy domination runs through states that support nuclear energy, like South Carolina. As the world demands more energy and our communities look for lower costs, those that succeed will embrace nuclear.
The message coming out of the GOP Convention is clear: we must preserve truth, pursue common sense, pioneer progress, and protect American values. And in order to do this, it’s time we propel our message to voters in every corner of the country. If we come together in this goal, we will WIN in November. #GOPConvention
Never Forget 🇺🇸 https://t.co/YMQaZCLbXE
Twenty-five years ago our nation was forever changed by the evil terrorist attacks of September 11. I continue to be inspired and humbled by the heroism of the first responders who answered the call that day. I am equally grateful for the men and women who put on our nation’s uniform to in justice for the innocent lives lost and in defense of the land we love. My heart goes out to the families who were, and continue to be, affected by the evil that took place on September 11th. May God bless their memories and their families. Never Forget.
One year ago, America lost a great father, husband, leader, and a voice for a new generation. Charlie used his platform to have thought-provoking policy discussions and work out differences through conversation, not violence. Regardless of your political beliefs, Charlie’s assassination is something that we should all easily, without pause, condemn fully. Unfortunately, in the days following his murder, there were far too many who allowed their hatred for what Charlie stood for cloud their moral decency and cheered his death. What we’ve seen one year later is Charlie’s cause was not shuttered that day - in fact, it just sparked a movement that inspired both young and old, all across America. I pray today that Charlie’s family, his children, and Erika Kirk feel a peace and remembering for Charlie’s legacy.
Tyson Steel Building Products, welcome to SC-03! The 96,000 square-foot manufacturing facility in Liberty will be its first operation to Pickens County and will bring new jobs and tens-of-millions of dollars in investment for South Carolina. This investment will contribute to continued growth in our manufacturing sector and expand economic opportunities for our workforce. https://t.co/TsH4MeThrI
