Let's be clear: there is no ceasefire. This is just a scheme to make Trump look like he's bringing gas prices down. Trump may be a fool, but the American people aren't. If Trump wants to lower gas prices, he can start by ending his reckless war of choice with Iran.
Cornell is not an isolated incident. 1 in 4 women experience sexual violence while in college. The @DemWomenCaucus and I are demanding an investigation into the Department of Education’s failure to adequately enforce Title IX protections for survivors of sexual harassment and assault. Protecting students on our campuses should never be a partisan issue. https://t.co/LASMg0PYF5
Inflation climbed to a 4-month high in September as Trump’s reckless war of choice has kept the national gas average above $4 for 158 days. Trump promised lower costs. Families got higher bills and fewer opportunities while Trump got $2 billion richer. https://t.co/UpjfJHitNL
Don’t let the door hit you on the way out! Good riddance to another sycophant whose only qualification was loyalty to Trump. Shame it took exposing her corruption to get her out the door, but it’s a win for the people. One down. Many more crooks in this administration to go.
Confused about Trump’s May 21 memo on Form I-485? You’re not alone. Trump cannot force immigrants to leave the U.S. and return to their home countries to apply for green card residency. My casework team and I are here to help you understand your options and navigate the process.
This is an unadulterated abuse of power. It is a continued attack on Black women. It is fascism in the extreme. Trump is weaponizing the federal government to escalate his racist attacks against Rep. Omar, undermine her ahead of the midterms, and distract from his failures as president. We won’t let him succeed. I stand with Ilhan.
Los Angeles is home to the largest urban indigenous population of any city in the United States. Today and every day, we recognize and celebrate the many cultures, histories, and contributions of Indigenous peoples. I’m proud to honor the communities and traditions that have endured across generations and continue to shape our country.

A sitting president has welcomed attacks on Los Angeles multiple times last week instead of keeping us safe. We know the best way to clap back is to make a plan to vote and make our voices heard. https://t.co/oZcxhoOC5w
I led a letter with Foreign Affairs Ranking Member @RepGregoryMeeks to demand answers on the State Department’s decision to revoke Brazilian Ambassador Maria Luiza Ribeiro Viotti’s diplomatic visa. Congress has an obligation to understand why they made this unnecessary and escalatory decision that threatens U.S.-Brazil relations and undermines American interests in the Western Hemisphere.
I'm just going to leave this here while Little Marco discovers what journalism is... https://t.co/uLvKIXHP4s
I would say that Pete Hegseth is drawing inspiration from Orwell's 1984, but I don't know that he's ever picked up a book. This is so dystopian. How is America falling in line with countries like North Korea and Afghanistan that perform public executions? Trump is trying to transform this country into the very thing we've always fought against.
Impeach Russell Vought. https://t.co/Qqj75Dwlpv
Everyone deserves the chance to see themselves in a story and learn from the stories of others. This Banned Books Week, I'm highlighting a few of my favorite books that have been challenged or banned. What are your favorite banned or challenged books? Let me know in the comments. ⬇️
ICE’s recklessness has fueled violence, unlawful arrests, and deaths—not only targeting immigrants, but U.S. citizens, too. I broke down how this is happening, who is responsible, and why we cannot look away. Watch below ⬇️ https://t.co/SbcoX30maI
An ICE agent fired seven shots at a car with a child in the backseat—in broad daylight, in a crowded area. ICE could have killed or seriously injured an innocent child and innocent bystanders. This kind of reckless use of force is completely unacceptable. A lack of proper training is no excuse for a shoot-first, ask-questions-later mentality. Due process still exists in this country. There must be independent investigations and real accountability. https://t.co/CHKS80Ts2W
Election Day is around the corner, LA! 🗳️ All registered voters should have their mail-in ballots by now. Check your mailbox, make your voice heard, and vote early.
While you're struggling to make ends meet, Kimberly Guilfoyle is allegedly trying to profit off her ambassadorship. No surprise when the thief-in-chief is setting the example that lying, stealing, & scheming are perfectly acceptable on his watch. The American people deserve better. @HouseDemocrats & I will hold this corrupt administration accountable. https://t.co/ZGH6a603i9
Where are the achievements, Mikey J? Gas prices are up. Grocery prices are up. And American families are paying more for less. Grow a spine and fight for what this country actually deserves.
"October 7th is a deeply painful day for so many here in Los Angeles and around the world. Today, we remember the nearly 1,200 innocent lives murdered on the deadliest day for Jews since the Holocaust, as well as the dozens of hostages who died in Hamas captivity. We also remember the immense pain, suffering, and loss experienced by both Israelis and Palestinians in the war that followed, including the tragic deaths of 60,000 civilians in Gaza. As the representative of one of the largest Jewish populations in the country, I’ve often heard from members of the community that the pain of this day is revisited every time they read about the rise in antisemitic attacks targeting Jewish houses of worship, businesses, and beloved community members. I will always stand firm against antisemitism and hate in all forms. There can never be another October 7th, nor a repetition of the brutality and suffering that followed. As we reflect on the pain of the last three years, we must continue pushing for lasting peace in the region through a two-state solution that allows both Israelis and Palestinians to live with dignity, security, and freedom." ###
All this talk about the Atlanta Hawks is giving me PTSD from when a hawk attacked me... https://t.co/V6AzkqxJDy

This is exactly why I introduced articles of impeachment against Russell Vought. Vought has repeatedly and willfully broken the law to serve Trump—and he’s just getting started. He is the puppet master pulling the strings and he must be stopped before he does further harm to our country. Impeach Russell Vought NOW.
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, Reps. Sydney Kamlager-Dove (CA-37), Co-Chair of the Congressional Brazil Caucus, and Gregory W. Meeks (NY-05), Ranking Member of the Foreign Affairs Committee, led 10 Members of Congress in demanding answers from the State Department about its decision to revoke Brazilian Ambassador Maria Luiza Ribeiro Viotti’s diplomatic visa. In their letter, the lawmakers condemned the decision as an unnecessary escalation that threatens U.S.-Brazil relations and undermines American interests in the Western Hemisphere. They emphasized Brazil’s importance as a major democracy and regional security and trading partner. “This unnecessary escalation is the latest of a series of actions that has driven a rupture in our relationship with the largest democracy and economy in South America. At a time when the Trump Administration claims to be prioritizing the Western Hemisphere, this misguided decision further damages America’s reputation in the region and pushes Brazil closer to the hands of our adversaries,” wrote the lawmakers. The lawmakers also criticized what they described as the Trump Administration’s sustained effort to influence Brazil’s 2026 elections. They cited State Department officials’ meetings with former President Bolsonaro, sanctions against Supreme Court Justice de Moraes, and statements questioning the integrity of Brazil’s elections as actions threatening the country’s democratic institutions and electoral processes. “Congress therefore has an obligation to understand why the Department of State departed from established practices and took the extraordinary step to revoke the Brazilian Ambassador’s visa,” concluded the lawmakers. The letter can be viewed in full here. In addition to Reps. Kamlager-Dove and Ranking Member Meeks, the letter was signed by James P. McGovern, Pramila Jayapal, Nydia M. Velázquez, Jonathan L. Jackson, Sylvia R. Garcia, Dina Titus, Yvette D. Clarke, Mike Quigley, Jasmine Crockett, and Madeleine Dean.
