This Congress, @HouseGOP voted to deliver $4.6 trillion in tax cuts for Michigan families, farmers, and small businesses.
Happy National Farmer's Day to the incredible farmers in MI-05! Today, we celebrate the farmers, growers, and producers who are helping feed America and the world. The Working Families Tax Cuts are providing farmers with the certainty they need by cutting taxes, lowering borrowing costs, raising small business expensing, and making the death tax exemption permanent.
It was great to meet with volunteers of Habitat for Humanity of Lenawee County, an organization that is on the front lines of addressing housing affordability! I was proud to vote for the 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act, which became law earlier this year, to expand housing supply and lower costs for Michigan families.
It was great to stop by Solomon’s Grounds in Temperance, Michigan, to present a tribute for their commitment to faith and service to our community. I n just 7 months after opening, Solomon’s Grounds earned the Guide to Michigan’s 2026 Best of Michigan Award in the coffeehouse category, a recognition decided by community vote, serving as a testament to the impact that the shop has had on the community.
House Republicans are fighting the fentanyl crisis by improving treatment and recovery opportunities. We passed the SUPPORT Act to continue to provide critical funding for comprehensive prevention, treatment, and recovery support services for those seeking to overcome their substance use disorder.
Despite Democrat obstruction, @HouseGOP has delivered the largest tax cut in American history, lower costs for prescription drugs, safer cities, and more affordable housing. We'll continue to fight to deliver results for hardworking Michigan families. https://t.co/WMsd76ScCH
What's the real cost of socialism? $355,000 per household. The DSA agenda would bankrupt Michigan families. https://t.co/21WN7VrNgp
I recently had the opportunity to host a roundtable with the superintendents of schools systems in Monroe County and discuss how we can support the next generation of leaders. I was proud to help advance a legislative package to transfer key statutory authorities to agencies better equipped to carry them out, ensuring that students, families, educators, and taxpayers are served by a government that puts results ahead of bureaucracy.
Government funds should not go to fraudsters. I am proud to support efforts to safeguard taxpayer funds and root out fraud and abuse in federal programs by voting for legislation to permanently establish the Division for National Fraud Enforcement.
Making sure Americans are able to support their families and put food on the table should always be a priority. Last year, I supported the Working Families Tax Cuts to provide critical relief to Michigan families and ensure hardworking Americans keep more of their hard-earned money.
Abdul’s plans will double our debt instantaneously, rip away your coverage, and cost the average Michigan family $350,000. $350,000 per family. It’s unaffordable.
Across southern Michigan, folks know that the radical socialist agenda is unaffordable. Thanks to all those who came out to Buchanan to discuss commonsense plans to lower prices, the $284 billion in taxpayer savings I ushered into law, and the largest tax cut in history. https://t.co/2OOYYld4qQ
It was great to meet with Adrian Fire Chief AJ Armstrong and provide an update on the federal funding I requested to construct a two-story live fire training structure and purchase training equipment to support realistic emergency response training for firefighters, police officers, and other first responders.
This Congress, @HouseGOP voted to reverse 22 overburdensome Biden-era regulations to protect consumers and lower costs for Michigan families. https://t.co/kVR0DP9rJ6
Unleashing our energy potential is key to lowering costs for hardworking Americans. That's why I voted for the Working Families Tax Cuts, historic legislation that reduced burdensome regulations to unlock America's full energy potential.
Human trafficking is a horrific crime that preys on the most vulnerable members of our communities. That’s why I fought to pass the bipartisan Enhancing Detection of Human Trafficking Act, which has passed both the House and Senate with unanimous consent, to strengthen efforts to identify trafficking, protect victims, and hold traffickers accountable.
I was glad to stop by the Jackson Area Career Center to celebrate its 50th anniversary and to present them with a tribute. Career and technical education helps provide students with the skills necessary to succeed in the modern workforce, and I was proud to implement legislation that expands Pell Grant eligibility to those looking to take advantage of these great opportunities.
Every Democrat voted against the Rural Health Transformation Fund, the largest investment in rural health care in history, that delivered $50 BILLION to rural communities.
Government funding should go to programs that benefit hardworking Americans. Legislation like the No Aid for Ghost Students Act safeguards taxpayer funding by holding fraudsters accountable to ensure taxpayer dollars support everyday Americans.
Honored to have the @uschamber endorsement as we continue to fight for good paying jobs, opportunity, and lower costs across southern Michigan.
I recently had the chance to talk with Calhoun County Sheriff Steven Hinkley about the vital work our law enforcement officers do to vigilantly defend our communities. To assist with their needs, in 2024, I secured community project funding for the jail as part of the appropriations process to ensure effective and efficient operations and improved safety features.
Enjoyed welcoming @eparegion5 Administrator Anne Vogel to the Village of Michiana to participate in a roundtable focused on Great Lakes priorities with other local leaders. As a member of the Natural Resources Committee, I remain committed to advancing policies that help conserve the Great Lakes and all they have to offer.
Socialists love promising things like "free" college, but the real cost falls on the taxpayer. Michigan families should not be forced to subsidize the DSA's costly agenda.
Three years ago today, Hamas launched a horrific attack on Israel, claiming the lives of over 1,200 men, women, and children and taking hundreds of hostages. Ever since that day, we've seen a surge of antisemitism on college campuses, at concerts, in online discourse, and across the country, with many leaders failing to show the courage to address it. We’ve seen antisemitic rhetoric turn to violence here in Michigan and many other places across the country. We must continue to work to ensure that Jews are safe.
Today, Congressman Tim Walberg (MI-05) welcomed Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Region 5 Administrator Anne Vogel to southwestern Michigan for a visit to a local brownfield site and a stakeholder roundtable focused on Great Lakes priorities. Congressman Walberg and Administrator Vogel visited the former Anstey Foundry brownfield site in Stevensville. The site was awarded a $733,250 grant in June 2026, as part of the EPA's Brownfields Program to support cleanup, restoration, and community engagement efforts. They then traveled to the Village of Michiana for a roundtable discussion with local leaders on Great Lakes Restoration Initiative successes, current basin challenges, and the EPA’s ongoing priorities. "It was an honor to host Regional Administrator Vogel to highlight our shared commitment to protecting the Great Lakes and discuss the importance of strategic investments to create healthier, revitalized communities," said Rep. Walberg. "Strong partnership with the EPA is essential to meeting the challenges facing the Great Lakes basin, accelerating cleanup efforts, and ensuring Michigan communities remain resilient and thriving for generations to come.” "Today’s visit underscored how collaboration across all levels of government can move cleanup efforts forward and deliver lasting benefits for the people of Berrien County," said EPA Region 5 Administrator Anne Vogel. "By partnering with local leaders and leveraging federal tools like the Brownfields Program and the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative, we are helping communities address legacy contamination, support economic revitalization, and protect one of our nation’s most important water resources."
