To every law enforcement and corrections officer in mid-Michigan: I have your back. I learned what your work demands while deployed at Guantanamo Bay, and I’ve carried that with me from the state legislature to Congress. https://t.co/L0QSAVgDhi
HUGE deployment of volunteers from all over the country are in Lansing today and tomorrow to knock doors here in the 7th District. Our goal is 15,000 the next two days. Join the fight at: https://t.co/VJqLgSuyuC https://t.co/QXVCeC275C
We, the people, should decide our elections, not groups parachuting in from out of state. I introduced two bills to change that. The CAP Act limits what a congressional campaign can spend, and the Outside Influence Prevention Act requires PACs to raise at least half their money in the state where they're spending it.
Some of the most important research in the country happens right here at Michigan State. I secured $125 million for MSU's Facility for Rare Isotope Beams to support work in energy, medicine, and national security. https://t.co/gZQCx6R59u
William Lawrence calls his past statements “hypothetical.” In 2021, more than two dozen people were killed in Lansing. Their families’ grief was real. He was in his 30s when he wrote that we were “nearer to a world without police and prisons.” By that age, you own what you say. I was 19 when I left for basic training and in my 20s when I deployed. I knew right from wrong then, and mid-Michigan should expect the same from him.
The 7th congressional district doesn’t have much of Genesee County but that doesn’t mean I’ve forgotten about my friends in Argentine Township. We’re going to travel to every single neighborhood in this district and have face to face conversations with hundreds of thousands of folks from here to the end of the campaign. For me, this was a vote of conviction, not convenience. I was one of only four Republicans to vote to require congressional approval for the war in Iran. I spent 22 years in the Army and saw friends come home struggling. I vote like lives depend on it, because they do. https://t.co/6Tn62NMCXS
I enlisted a year before 9/11. I spent 22 years in uniform because of what happened that day. Hasan Piker said America deserved it. William Larence called him "the man." https://t.co/yhmYbkpHXW
Brighter futures and safer communities start with giving young people a path forward. The $750,000 I secured for Lansing's United Mentoring Program helps teens find mentors, stay on track in school, and plan their careers. https://t.co/3p68UeiOko
Happy birthday to the U.S. Navy! Thank you to every sailor who has put on the uniform — past and present — to defend our nation at sea and around the world. https://t.co/GjJ7JPvmQS
It’s time for the Senate to pass the Farm Bill. Learn more about this historic legislation we passed in the House earlier this year: https://t.co/ZO7pA1TsBJ
I enjoyed hearing from local business leaders during the @LansingChamber’s Economic Club luncheon last week. The program featured a discussion on challenges to Michigan’s water infrastructure. The U.S. House has approved funding I requested for mid-Michigan water supply and drain projects, and now it’s time for the Senate to get it done for our communities.
Your kids didn't vote for a dime of the national debt. They're still on the hook for more than $116,000 each. I've voted to cut spending in Washington, and I voted against corporate handouts back in Lansing, even when my own party pushed them. I'll keep pressing both parties to get serious about what we spend.
Agriculture is the backbone of our rural communities. Michigan farmers work hard to feed and fuel the world, and today we celebrate them and recognize their hard work and dedication. To farmers across mid-Michigan: Thank you for all you do. https://t.co/uhqsJZpaho
The average first-time homebuyer in America is now 40 years old. That's not how it's supposed to be. I helped pass a law to stop big corporate investors from buying up more homes, and I introduced a bill to put more starter homes in the hands of first-time buyers. https://t.co/kh1V5NBpnM
Will Lawrence called for Senator Joe Manchin to die. There is nothing more serious than calling for violence against people you disagree with politically. National Democrats are pouring money into Will’s race anyway. It shows you where their morals are. I have never and will never call for political violence against any opponent of mine. That is not something our country should ever tolerate.
If you're raising a family in mid-Michigan, William Lawrence has a message for you. I'd rather not repeat it, but you can read it for yourself. Ashley and I are raising our four kids in Charlotte, and I'll always stand up for families like ours and yours. https://t.co/9KqwvQCfR5
Behind every one of these 1,140 cases is a neighbor who needed help navigating Washington. Too often, people wait months for an answer or get bounced from office to office with no one taking responsibility. My team's job is to cut through that. Helping them is one of the most important parts of this job, and I take it personally.
Thanks to everyone who came out to walk with us at the MSU homecoming parade on Friday. Go Green! If you want to join us for our next parade you can sign up at https://t.co/VJqLgSuyuC https://t.co/thwgBSEc2L
I’m grateful to @JAMidMichigan for inviting me to their “My Government and Me” event with students in Lansing this past week. We had a great conversation about what it’s like being their representative in Congress and how they can participate in our system of government. https://t.co/Y26Xe0vxHG
Thirty-eight minutes from the first call to three boaters back on shore. Thank you to the Coast Guard and the Berrien County Sheriff's Office for moving fast and saving lives on Lake Michigan. https://t.co/zuFV1HOj1N
My opponent, Will Lawrence, said, "Envision a world of free and open migration." No need to envision it. France is already showing us what open migration looks like in practice. Take a look at how that’s working out. https://t.co/Yrxjc7gRY3
Thanks to everyone at Clinton County Catalyst for having me at your monthly legislative meeting in St. Johns. I appreciated the opportunity to connect with local residents and small-business owners and share an update about my work in Congress. Your partnership is critical as we work together to strengthen our communities.
We, the people, should decide our elections, not groups parachuting in from out of state. I introduced two bills to change that. The CAP Act limits what a congressional campaign can spend, and the Outside Influence Prevention Act requires PACs to raise at least half their money in the state where they're spending it.
Saturdays are for the doors! Thanks to the volunteers who came out today to walk neighborhoods all across the 7th District. To get involved signup at: https://t.co/VJqLgSu0F4 https://t.co/O0pIm2ZRS0
