Enjoyed stopping by Buck’s Tavern in Loveland and hearing from workers about how provisions in the Working Families @TaxCuts like no tax on tips and overtime are helping them keep more of what they earn. https://t.co/MM1CldWCxk
Sandra waited nearly three years for her Social Security disability benefits. My office stepped in, helped move her case forward, and made sure she received the benefits she was owed. Helping Ohioans like Sandra is one of the most important parts of my job. If you need help with Social Security or another federal agency, my office is here to help: https://t.co/NRlFNzqa0p
Ohio doesn’t issue driver’s licenses to illegal immigrants because that’s common sense. Other states should follow our lead. https://t.co/aIjkL5jL1z
More students in Ohio are graduating high school with a career tech education than ever before. These students are graduating high school career-ready and without college debt.
Ohioans shared how our investments in career tech education have helped them grow and thrive. Jeremy got a head start on his career. Elise said the program “changed her life.” Steven was hired within a week. Career tech is preparing students for high-paying jobs, helping employers fill in-demand jobs, and creating more opportunities for Ohio.
Northeast Ohio has the skilled workforce, infrastructure, and strategic location to support this critical mission for our U.S. Navy. I urged the administration to bring this facility to Northeast Ohio, and I’m proud to see Cleveland selected as its home. I’ll continue fighting for projects that strengthen our nation’s defense and create opportunities for Ohio workers. https://t.co/zeUymOdRTp
Three Ohioans were killed in nine days by illegal immigrants driving with licenses from sanctuary states. My Red Light Act would cut highway funding to any state that hands them out. https://t.co/8FRXuQFc0f
Great news from Cleveland and Youngstown areas as work will be done in both places.
Ohio's economy is growing, and our energy grid needs to keep up. During my roundtable with @SenJohnBarrasso in Columbus, we discussed how permitting reform can speed up energy projects, strengthen our grid, and help lower costs for working families. https://t.co/kqmHcfUK3X
251 years of defending freedom on the seas. Happy birthday to the U.S. Navy, and thank you to every sailor and veteran who has honorably served and protected our great nation - as well as their families who support them and sacrifice every day. https://t.co/Exi038b7lj
“Northeast Ohio has the skilled workforce, infrastructure and strategic location to support this critical mission for our U.S. Navy.” WASHINGTON – Sen. Jon Husted (R-Ohio) applauded President Donald Trump’s announcement that Cleveland has been selected as the home of the U.S. Navy’s new Submarine Component Repair Center. The announcement follows Husted’s letter to Office of Management and Budget Director Russell Vought and Acting Secretary of the Navy Hung Cao urging the administration to consider Northeast Ohio for the facility. “Northeast Ohio has the skilled workforce, infrastructure and strategic location to support this critical mission for our U.S. Navy. This facility will strengthen our national security, support military readiness and create jobs in Cleveland. I urged the administration to bring this facility to Northeast Ohio, and I’m proud to see Cleveland selected as its home. I’ll continue fighting for projects that strengthen our nation’s defense and create opportunities for Ohio workers,” said Husted. On August 13, 2026, Trump issued a presidential memorandum directing administration officials to identify a suitable location for the center within 90 days. The facility is expected to manufacture, repair and maintain submarine components, supporting the U.S. Navy while bringing new economic opportunities to Northeast Ohio.
“We can’t build Ohio’s energy future if it takes up to a decade just to get a permit.” COLUMBUS – Sen. Jon Husted (R-Ohio) today hosted a permitting reform roundtable with Senate Majority Whip John Barrasso (R-Wyo.), bringing together state lawmakers, regulators and Ohio energy, manufacturing and business leaders. Currently, a federal environmental review can take up to a decade. Projects miss deadlines and waste budgets before construction begins. As energy usage adds demand to Ohio’s grid, the grid must keep up. “Ohio’s economy is growing, and the grid has to keep up. We can’t build Ohio’s energy future and lower costs for working families if it takes up to a decade just to get a permit. I was glad to bring my friend Sen. Barrasso to Columbus to hear directly from the people who build, power and regulate energy in Ohio. We’re also fighting to make sure data centers pay for their own energy so working families aren’t stuck footing the bill for Big Tech,” said Husted. “America needs to build better, faster, cheaper, and smarter. Right now, critical energy projects spend years trapped in the regulatory penalty box. Senator Husted’s roundtable today underscored how essential permitting reform is to producing more American energy and lowering prices for American families. Senator Husted has led the way in the Senate with thoughtful legislation that will protect families from increased electricity rates. The Senate has also negotiated bipartisan permitting legislation. We need to pass these reforms this year. American families cannot afford to wait,” said Barrasso. Husted is a member of the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee and has worked with Chairman Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.) on fixing our broken permitting system. He also introduced the Ratepayer Protection Act, which would make large new data centers pay for their own energy costs, and worked to include stronger protections in the permitting bill. Husted is also leading efforts in the Senate on permitting reform including: The New Source Review Permitting Act, which would clarify federal permitting requirements under the Clean Air Act to help manufacturers and energy producers improve efficiency, upgrade equipment and complete pollution control projects. The American Energy and Mineral Infrastructure Act of 2026, which would streamline federal permitting, reduce delays from litigation and overlapping reviews, and accelerate construction of critical energy and mineral infrastructure. The Water Authority and Timely Environmental Review (WATER Act), which aims to streamline permitting for water projects. Participants discussed the Bipartisan American Affordability and Jobs Act, a U.S. Senate bill that would make the permitting process more efficient, effective and predictable while keeping environmental safeguards intact and protecting. The bill is expected to receive a vote in the U.S. Senate when senators return to the Capitol after the October state work period. They also discussed ways to add grid capacity by upgrading existing power lines. Federal law requires projects like power plants, pipelines and roads to undergo lengthy reviews before construction starts. Those reviews are often open-ended, and permits can be challenged in court for years. The Bipartisan American Affordability and Jobs Act would: Set deadlines. Environmental assessments would be due within one year and full environmental impact statements within two years. Limit lawsuits. Claims under the National Environmental Policy Act would have to be filed within 150 days. Protect issued permits. Federal agencies couldn’t pull or suspend a valid permit except under specific conditions. Protect ratepayers, using a similar solution to Husted’s Ratepayer Protection Act. Data centers using 20 megawatts or more would have to cover their own energy costs. Keep Ohio in control. Ohio keeps its authority to site transmission lines and sets rates for data centers.
Happy Columbus Day! In 1492, Christopher Columbus set sail and discovered land that would become the greatest nation in the world. Have a safe and fun long weekend with family and friends. https://t.co/anyDSmDzFj
Great to be at Bristol Dairy in Wayne County today to celebrate National Farmers Day! Ohio's nearly 74,000 farmers wake up before the rest of us to work 13.5 million acres of land. God bless our farmers for feeding our families and fueling our economy. https://t.co/RlWyAK4CWL
Awesome!
Whether it’s lowering energy costs, requiring simple photo ID to vote, or banning Members of Congress from trading stocks, Democrats voted NO—thwarting the will of the American people. https://t.co/TxD7SKcEVM
Happy Sunday ☀️ “For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.” 2 Timothy 1:7 NIV
Since the Working Families @TaxCuts became law, Ohio workers, families, seniors, and businesses have seen the benefits. From tax relief on tips and overtime to helping local businesses create jobs and invest in their communities, this law is putting more money back into the pockets of hardworking Ohioans and strengthening our state’s economy.
Can confirm: The way they describe themselves is accurate! https://t.co/giTN3k3t5l
Spent some time at The Shakery: Eats & Treats in Ironton. https://t.co/cIiXRg1g7Z
The Working Families @TaxCuts modernized the farm safety net, helping producers have more certainty when planning for their business and farm operations, and the Farm Bill includes five bills that I am championing to support Ohio farmers. Enjoyed spending time with Ohio’s farmers last week to share with them how we are working to support them in the Senate. https://t.co/el5cyUlb1K
Senate Democrats want to talk about affordability, but when I gave them a chance to actually bring costs down for working families, they blocked my bill from becoming law. https://t.co/avXdKfPj6t
Stopped by Adam’s Flying Pig Coffee House in Wheelersburg for a coffee, and got to spend some time with Adam, the inspiration behind the name! Great to visit a small business that gives Ohioans living with disabilities an opportunity to work, grow, and thrive right here in their community.
I brought my Ratepayer Protection Act to the Senate floor to make sure that the growth of data centers does not mean higher electric bills for working families, senior citizens, and small businesses. Senate Democrats played politics and prevented it from becoming law. https://t.co/RAjqH3ExjW
