I have proudly advocated for Fort Rucker to be named @USArmy’s UAS Center of Excellence for years. Today’s announcement makes clear that Fort Rucker, which has long been the beating heart of Army Aviation, will lead the Army into the next era of warfare. I’m grateful to @POTUS, @SecWar, @SecArmy, and General LaNeve for continuing to recognize how valuable Alabama is to our nation’s defense and how much we have to offer. I look forward to continuing to work alongside them to support Fort Rucker’s mission.
Parents, check with your employer to see if they offer a Dependent Care FSA. Enrollment for most plans typically opens in the next month. I was proud to lead the effort to increase the maximum by 50% in the @TaxCuts and want to make sure parents take advantage of every tool available.
Happy National Farmer’s Day! I’m incredibly grateful for the hardworking farmers and cattlemen who work day in and day out to feed and fuel our great state. Their dedication strengthens our communities and keeps Alabama strong! https://t.co/d661AE8SXA
A bet’s a bet—but only because you notarized it @3YearLetterman. What kind of contract do you have with the refs? Go Dawgs.
You’re on. And ROLL TIDE.
Alabama, please be careful and follow best practices after yesterday’s hurricane. - Check on your neighbors, especially if they are elderly. - Stay away from downed power lines and flooded roads. - Only use generators outdoors and away from your home. - Document any damage before starting cleanup. Thank you to our incredible first responders who are working around the clock to help Alabamians. My team and I will remain in close contact with local, state, and federal leadership as well as Alabama’s power companies. If you need help with a federal agency, please reach out to my office below. https://t.co/5W6VRO36uV
Stay safe Alabama, and continue to heed warnings from local and emergency management officials as Hurricane Isaias progresses.
Great news coming out of HUD. The Trump Administration has worked diligently to ensure illegal aliens do not receive taxpayer-funded housing benefits. As we continue to work to make life more affordable, I’m proud to be a Senate partner to help more Americans with the opportunity to own a home.
WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. Senator Katie Britt (R-Ala.) recently joined James Lankford (R-Okla.) and 128 members of Congress in sending a letter to the Inspector General (IG) of the US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) urging the IG to review and investigate the activities and federal funding streams of Planned Parenthood Federation of America, Inc., and its affiliates. “Serious concerns have long been raised regarding the organization’s compliance with applicable federal laws, regulations, and program requirements governing the receipt and use of federal funds,” the Republican lawmakers wrote. The lawmakers argue these concerns warrant a comprehensive review of Planned Parenthood’s use of federal funds and compliance with federal law. “In particular, these concerns relate to whether Planned Parenthood Federation of America, Inc. and the organization’s affiliates have adhered to applicable requirements governing program integrity, financial accountability, and the proper use of funds provided through HHS-administered programs,” they continued. The letter follows a recent Small Business Administration (SBA) investigation into whether Planned Parenthood affiliates improperly received approximately $88 million in loans through the Paycheck Protection Program during the COVID-19 pandemic. The lawmakers are also raising concerns about additional allegations involving fraud, false statements, potential violations of federal criminal law, and failures to disclose potential violations to the federal government. The lawmakers are asking the HHS IG to review the federal funds Planned Parenthood and its affiliates have received and determine whether they were used in accordance with federal law. They also urged the IG to coordinate with other federal oversight agencies, including the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), as needed. You can read the full text of the letter here. Senator Britt is a proud champion for protecting the unborn and supporting mothers and families. She recently celebrated the 50thanniversary of the Hyde Amendment, which prevents taxpayer funded abortion. She is a cosponsor of the No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act and the Title X Abortion Provider Prohibition Act. In 2024, Senator Britt joined her colleagues in a bicameral letter to the Government Accountability Office to investigate the federal funding awarded to abortion providers. ###

Three years ago today, the Jewish people endured the deadliest day since the Holocaust. We will never forget the innocent lives brutally taken by Hamas on October 7, the hostages ripped from their families, and the unimaginable pain inflicted that day and in its aftermath. Today, we remember those we lost and remain deeply grateful to President Trump for helping bring all of the hostages home.
Great to see @GE_Aerospace invest $1 million in workforce training to equip more Alabamians with the skills they need to succeed and ensure our great state continues to lead the way in advanced manufacturing!
WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. Senators Katie Britt (R-Ala.) and Raphael Warnock (D-Ga.) introduced bipartisan legislation to address disparities in the tax treatment of publicly traded and privately owned sports teams. The legislation would update the tax code to ensure publicly traded professional sports teams receive the same tax treatment as privately owned teams when accounting for compensation paid to players, coaches, and team managers. “Beginning next year, a tax law signed in 2021 will expand to include a public company’s five highest-paid employees beyond its senior executives. For publicly traded professional sports organizations like the Atlanta Braves, this means players and other on-field personnel will be swept into a tax rule designed around executive compensation,” said Senator Britt. “Our bipartisan bill makes a targeted correction by excluding athletic personnel from that additional five-employee category while leaving the existing executive-compensation rules in place. I appreciate Senator Warnock’s partnership on this commonsense fix to ensure the Atlanta Braves are not unfairly penalized for being a public company.” “The Atlanta Braves are a historic franchise that has showcased Atlanta and Georgia to the world,” said Senator Warnock. “I am proud to have worked across the aisle to help the Atlanta Braves and other publicly owned teams continue to thrive and win on the playing field. This legislation will ensure fair tax treatment between professional sports teams.” The legislation is supported by the Atlanta Braves. A companion bill is being led in the U.S. House of Representatives by Representatives Nicole Malliotakis (R-N.Y.), Tom Suozzi (D-N.Y.), Brian Jack (R-Ga.), and Lucy McBath (D-Ga.). “We applaud the bipartisan work of Senators Warnock and Britt and Representatives Malliotakis, Suozzi, Jack, and McBath to correct an unintended competitive disadvantage harming publicly traded professional sports teams,” the Atlanta Braves said in a statement. “Unlike C-suite executives, professional athletes work within league rules and do not receive equity or make business decisions for their teams. Yet, the tax code does not recognize the distinction. These members agree that this was an unintended consequence, and we appreciate their willingness to clarify the original intent of the law.” You can read more about the legislation here and media coverage on the Senators’ bill below: Bipartisan legislation introduced to amend tax hike issue facing Braves, Knicks, Rangers Braves score bipartisan support in Washington tax battle The latest sports tax Hail Mary ###
