Pete Hegseth is blocking promotions and firing generals, especially women and people of color, and it’s costing us some of our most experienced and qualified servicemembers. That makes our country less safe. https://t.co/7uh0iRqU7R

Thanks to everyone who came out to our LD4 House Party! Arizonans are tired of the do-nothing politicians and want real fighters like @Aaron4Arizona, @TammyCaputi, and @KarenGreshamAZ. We have to elect them and flip the state legislature this November. https://t.co/D3pjKFjSHm

Trump comes to Arizona and insults our governor. Someone in Bullhead City should remind the President that he's a corrupt felon who's driving up the cost of everything while @KatieHobbs is a hardworking, honest and effective public servant who puts Arizona and the country first.

This just in: Trump's economy is failing American families. His war, tariffs, and big corporate tax breaks mean costs are up and you're the one paying the price.

Every kid deserves a good public education. From kindergarten to college, public schools changed my life. Every kid deserves that shot regardless of their zip code or their parents’ income. That’s why Republicans’ national school voucher program is a bad idea. It drains resources from schools and benefits the wealthy. I'm fighting to stop it so we can keep improving our public schools.

This weekend, Trump announced Ukraine and Russia agreed to an “energy ceasefire,” which has turned out to be completely false. Neither side agreed to anything, and Russia attacked Ukraine’s energy infrastructure again. He’s making up fake ceasefires because he wants Ukraine to stop striking Russian oil refineries. Those strikes have been having a real impact in the war, and stopping them is a gift to Putin. It’s important to understand that any shortage of diesel fuel is because of Trump’s decision to go to war with Iran without understanding that they would shut down the Strait of Hormuz, which is perhaps one of the biggest geopolitical blunders in modern history. Instead of admitting that and trying to solve the problem he created, Trump is trying to put the blame on a country that’s literally fighting for its survival against Russia. Siding with Putin and Russia seems to be a mainstay of this presidency. Even his supporters are piling on with Elon Musk tweeting that Zelenskyy has gone “too far.” Whose side are they on? Regardless, the Ukrainians are making progress, and if things continue to go well, it’s a real possibility that Putin could be pressured to accept a deal that maintains Ukrainian sovereignty. Anyone who supports the Russians in this conflict will find themselves on the wrong side of history and the wrong side of America’s interests. Trump, Elon, etc. should try to avoid being this century’s Neville Chamberlain.

For 251 years, the U.S. Navy has been defending this country, its people, its values, and its promises. As a Navy combat veteran with 25 years of service, this day means a lot to me. To everyone who has served: fair winds and following seas. https://t.co/rQzAMrBjYJ

ICYMI: Kelly Writes Washington Times Op-Ed on Keeping Humans in Command as AI Transforms Warfare

“A pilot still needs to be able to complete the mission when the automation fails. Tomorrow’s warfighters must be able to recognize when an AI system is giving them bad information and know how to continue the mission without it.” This week, Arizona Senator Mark Kelly published an op-ed in The Washington Times emphasizing the need to keep human judgment and accountability at the center of the military’s growing use of AI. Drawing on his experience as a Navy combat pilot and astronaut, Kelly highlighted legislation he introduced to ensure servicemembers can recognize when AI systems fail, continue operating without them, and maintain human oversight of critical military decisions. Kelly introduced the Ultimate Human Responsibility in Defense Systems Actand the Warfighter AI Readiness and Preparedness (WARP) Actin June. Click here to read the full op-ed. See key excerpts below: On recognizing AI as a tool and understanding its limitations Artificial intelligence is already changing warfare. […] But after 25 years in the Navy as a combat and test pilot and 15 years as an astronaut, I know having the most advanced technology doesn’t guarantee success. Technology is a tool. What matters is whether our people know how to use it, understand its limitations and can still accomplish the mission when it fails. On introducing the Warfighter AI Readiness and Preparedness Act While we need to have the most capable systems, we can’t lose sight of these two principles: our service members must be able to fight when technology fails, and human judgment and responsibility must be at the center of decisions about the use of force. So first, we need the Department of Defense to assess how reliance on AI affects readiness, identify the skills most impacted by AI and determine how service members keep the judgment they need when those systems are unavailable or compromised. That’s the idea behind my bipartisan Warfighter AI Readiness and Preparedness (WARP) Act, that I introduced with Sen. Tom Cotton, R-Ark. On introducing the Ultimate Human Responsibility in Defense Systems Act Tomorrow’s warfighters must be able to recognize when an AI system is giving them bad information and know how to continue the mission without it. Because while AI can assist human judgment, it cannot replace human responsibility, including for the use of force. For that reason, we also need a permanent requirement for human judgment and accountability when autonomous weapons and AI systems are involved in the use of force, which is part of my Ultimate Human Responsibility in Defense Systems Act. On the opportunity to maintain America’s military superiority Our goal should be a military in which AI allows a service member to understand the battlefield faster, make better decisions and accomplish missions that would otherwise be impossible while still possessing the training, experience and judgment to recognize when technology is wrong and take control. The countries that figure out that balance will have a major advantage. That edge is ours for the taking.

Any single individual having this amount of influence in our elections does not lead to a healthy democracy. It doesn’t matter if they are supporting Democrats or Republicans.
