Important News for Mainers: After my conversations with the HHS Secretary and OMB Director this week, more than $38 million in federal home heating assistance will be released to help Maine families. This is one of the earliest releases of LIHEAP funding. This announcement comes at a critical time, as rising home heating oil prices are placing significant financial pressure on Mainers. No Mainer should have to choose between heating their home and paying for other basic necessities.
I remember my father carrying me on his shoulders at Memorial Day parades in Caribou, and I remember when Alzheimer’s took those memories away from him. I’ll never forget what he taught me about service, and I’ll never stop fighting for Maine families facing this disease. https://t.co/cTssWDlhT4
I am pleased that $2.8 million in federal funding from the Rural Health Transformation Program, which I authored last year, will help Penobscot Community Health Care avoid an imminent bankruptcy filing and continue serving patients in the Bangor region. This is welcome news for the thousands of Mainers who rely on PCHC for access to essential health care services. https://t.co/MZWixbwWGb

Susan Collins is America’s most independent senator. https://t.co/2AwS3dyDZa
“What Senator Collins did benefited over 25,000 Maine retirees. Only Susan Collins could have gotten the Social Security Fairness Act passed.” - Denise, Retired Aroostook County Teacher https://t.co/8MggJJbBKT
Living in rural Maine shouldn't mean worse health care. This year, Senator Collins secured $190 million for fire stations, ambulance bases, mobile mammography, and paramedic training across rural Maine. https://t.co/az5Ztb9VjG
Policies put in place when Troy Jackson was President of the Maine Senate have made health insurance more expensive for Mainers. https://t.co/suQNt0g0rg
Fire stations, rural hospitals, housing, child care, ports, roads. Senator Collins has secured nearly $1.5 billion for 672 projects, reaching all 16 Maine counties. https://t.co/UB4mKHCU7y
For years, North Windham has lacked the public wastewater infrastructure needed to support further economic and residential growth in the area. Today, I joined local leaders to cut the ribbon on the North Windham Wastewater Treatment Facility. This new state-of-the-art system will support new business and housing development and is expected to prevent thousands of pounds of nitrogen and phosphorus from entering the North Windham aquifer each year. This great achievement is the result of the Town of Windham, the Portland Water District, and Windham Raymond Schools working together with state and federal partners. I was delighted to contribute to the success of this project by securing $2 million through my role on the Senate Appropriations Committee. Over the past five years, I have secured more than $164 million to support 83 water and wastewater projects throughout Maine, helping to make long-overdue infrastructure upgrades and strengthen the economic and environmental health of communities across our state.
Serving you in the U.S. Senate is the honor of my life, and I will continue to work hard every day to be your strong, independent and effective voice who delivers results for Maine. I am asking for your continued trust and your vote. https://t.co/YrvY8Y6xYQ
Congress works best when both parties actually listen to each other. Susan Collins was ranked America's most bipartisan senator, and she'll keep bringing people together to get results for Maine. https://t.co/lKhxAxoKMK
Every young Mainer deserves a path to opportunity. This $250,000 I secured for the Center for Entrepreneurial Studies in Farmington is expanding workforce training and support for at risk youth in rural Western Maine. These are exactly the kind of innovative, life changing projects the federal government should be funding. Thank you to Bonita for everything you do!
Welcome home, Jessica! After nearly eight months aboard the International Space Station, Caribou native Dr. Jessica Meir and her fellow astronauts have safely returned to Earth following NASA’s Crew-12 mission. Jessica has once again made Maine and Aroostook County proud, this time serving as commander of the more than 230-day mission. Congratulations to Jessica and the entire Crew-12 team on a job well done and their safe return home.
Neither party holds a monopoly on good ideas. That’s why I have always worked with colleagues on both sides of the aisle to develop common-sense solutions to our nation’s most pressing problems. I’m honored to receive the @NoLabelsOrg Problem Solver Seal. https://t.co/YeQHBXmA1V
Three years ago today, Hamas terrorists attacked Israel, murdering 1,200 men, women, and children and taking hundreds more hostage in the deadliest single day for the Jewish community since the Holocaust. Today, we remember the innocent lives taken on October 7th and the suffering endured by the hostages and their families. I will never forget the ordeal of Abigail Edan, who was just three years old when she witnessed the murder of both of her parents and was taken hostage by Hamas. Abigail’s great-aunt gave me her picture and asked me to share her story. I carried that photo with me throughout Abigail’s captivity and later had the opportunity to meet her after she was finally released. Her story is a lasting reminder of the families devastated by Hamas’s cruelty and of the importance of never forgetting the victims of October 7th. On this day, we also reaffirm our commitment to stand against antisemitism and ensure it has no place in our country.
For more than a century, Unum has been a cornerstone of Maine’s business community and is still one of the largest private employers in our state. It was great to visit Unum’s Portland campus today for the company’s fall festival and BBQ and meet with some of the more than 1,000 Mainers who work there.
Over @TroyJackson207's more than 20 years in Augusta, a third of his bills were unanimously rejected in committee. If he couldn't even get a single member of his own party to support his bills, why does he think he would be effective in Washington? https://t.co/wDN6wCeJft
Common sense and independent leadership are at the core of my service in the Senate. I am honored to have the continued support of this true Maine legend — thank you, Bill. https://t.co/yisBuOYqfh
Representing you is an honor. Mainers work hard, and I work hard for you each and every day. https://t.co/sUPpQZXftr
I coauthored the Terrorism Prevention Act which has made us safer. https://t.co/oqXS8kk4YE
Effective leadership matters in Washington. As chair of the Appropriations Committee, I am able to bring federal dollars to help ease the burden on taxpayers. In the past five years, I’ve secured $1.5 billion for 672 projects from Madawaska to Kittery, from Eastport to Rumford. These are investments in our communities — fire stations, affordable housing, better roads, bridges, and clean water, childcare, workforce training, and assistance for our rural hospitals.
Growing up in Aroostook County, I learned the value of hard work picking potatoes as a child. My parents taught me to keep my word and to serve. Those values still guide me today. https://t.co/tlGamgTFdP
Click HERE for a full-resolution image. WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Susan Collins was named a 2026 Clean Energy Champion by Citizens for Responsible Energy Solutions (CRES). CRES recognized Senator Collins for her longstanding work to strengthen grid resilience, advance energy storage and clean energy technologies, and support investments in the nation’s energy infrastructure. “CRES has been an important partner in advancing responsible energy policies that strengthen our nation’s economy and energy security, and I am grateful to be recognized by the organization as a Clean Energy Champion,” said Senator Collins. “As Chair of the Senate Appropriations Committee, I will continue working across the aisle to advance an all-of-the-above energy strategy that helps make energy more reliable and affordable while encouraging American innovation.” Senator Collins was a member of the bipartisan group of ten senators who negotiated the 2021 Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, which established the Grid Resilience and Innovation Partnerships (GRIP) grant program to strengthen and modernize the nation’s electric grid. Through the GRIP program, Form Energy received a nearly $150 million federal award for a new battery-based energy storage facility located at the site of the former Lincoln Paper & Tissue Mill. In August, Senator Collins joined U.S. Secretary of Energy Chris Wright and local leaders in Lincoln to discuss the plans for the new facility. The Better Energy Storage Technology (BEST) Act, legislation authored by Senator Collins to support grid-scale energy storage research and development and improve the efficiency of the nation’s electric grid, was signed into law in 2020. ###
I ask for your vote so that I can continue my work for you in Washington. Thank you. https://t.co/TTl1cD3hPh
