I want to congratulate Katie Bailey on recently being named Director of the White House Office of Legislative Affairs. My team and I worked closely with Katie when she served as Legislative Director for @GovBraun during his time in the Senate. She is a true professional who will effectively advance the President’s agenda. Katie also has a deep understanding of Indiana and the Midwest, which I am excited for her to bring to this role. I look forward to working with Katie and her team.
Great video from Michael Roberts and @HudsonInstitute on how the SHIPS Act will rebuild America’s fleet of commercial ships and use market economics to reduce costs for taxpayers.

America should never rely on foreign competitors for critical agricultural resources. Great to see @SecRollins and @USDA prioritize the protection of America’s crop collections. We should build on this initiative by exploring similar opportunities across our federal lands, starting with our national parks through my America’s Living Library Act.
Hoosier farmers feed our families, fuel our economy, and keep our rural communities strong. Today we celebrate the men and women who carry forward the vibrant tradition of Indiana agriculture. https://t.co/9OiUNByqdp

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Todd Young (R-Ind.) addressed Indiana University’s Biotechnology Symposium in Indianapolis on Thursday and highlighted Indiana’s growing role in the life sciences industry and the national security implications of biotechnology. Young, who chairs the National Security Commission on Emerging Biotechnology (NSCEB), delivered opening remarks and participated in a fireside chat with NSCEB Vice Chair Dr. Michelle Rozo and Commissioner Dr. Dov Zakheim. The discussion focused on how Congress is advancing the Commission’s recommendations, China’s biotech ambitions, why the U.S. needs to stay ahead, and expanding opportunities for Hoosier workers. “Biotechnology is critical to our national security, economic competitiveness, and quality of life. Our National Security Commission on Emerging Biotechnology laid out a roadmap to ensure the United States leads the next age of biotechnology, and Indiana University is well-positioned to help turn that vision into a reality. By bringing together talented researchers across disciplines, IU is advancing the kind of innovation that will strengthen America’s leadership in this critical sector,” said Senator Young. During the symposium, IU announced six research awards through its National Security Biotech for Defense program. The awards support interdisciplinary research projects focused on advancing biotechnology applications in areas including battlefield medicine, biological threat detection, advanced materials, and biomanufacturing.

I’m pleased the Senate unanimously passed our bill to highlight these horrific abuses and stand with victims of persecution in China. I’ll continue to speak out against the Chinese Communist Party’s persecution of religious minorities. https://t.co/uBtpMUcZC5
Socialism has never worked in any part of the world. https://t.co/RxBp62g5eP
Three years ago today, Hamas carried out the deadliest attack on the Jewish people since the Holocaust, killing innocent civilians, including Americans. Last week, I supported a resolution that passed the Senate honoring the innocent Americans murdered and taken hostage by Hamas terrorists on and after October 7th, 2023, and reaffirming the commitment of the United States to seek legal justice on behalf of their families.
We need to make American ships again, and @RussVought and the @WHOMB team recognize the importance of shipbuilding to our national security. I applaud Russ and the Trump administration for continuing to advance this critical priority. https://t.co/f0KjCEluA4
