Michael DiGiovancarlo, born in 1970, is a Democratic/Working Families member of the Connecticut House of Representatives for the 74th District, which includes part of Waterbury, serving since January 2021. He was first elected in 2020, defeating incumbent Republican Stephanie Cummings. DiGiovancarlo has also served for a decade as a District 4 Alderman on the Waterbury Board of Aldermen, winning re-election most recently in November 2025, and was elected President of the Board of Aldermen in December 2023, succeeding Paul Pernerewski.
