Corey Simon, a Republican, has represented District 3 in the Florida State Senate since November 2022, winning his first bid for the seat that year. Born March 2, 1977, in Boynton Beach, he attended Blanche Ely High School and went on to play college football at Florida State, where he earned consensus All-American honors and was part of a BCS National Championship team. He was selected sixth overall by the Philadelphia Eagles in the 2000 NFL draft and played eight seasons as a defensive tackle in the NFL for the Eagles, Indianapolis Colts and Tennessee Titans, earning a Pro Bowl selection in 2004.
