Pete Harckham is a Democratic/Working Families member of the New York State Senate, representing District 40 since January 2019. Born September 16, 1960, in Clarkstown, New York, he attended Clarkstown High School North and Dickinson College. Before his election to the Senate in 2018, when he defeated incumbent Terrence Murphy, Harckham served on the Westchester County Board of Legislators and worked in the administration of Governor Andrew Cuomo.
