Bill Stanley is a Republican member of the Virginia Senate representing District 7, having begun his current term on January 10, 2024. He was born July 21, 1967, in Milton and is a graduate of Hampden–Sydney College. He works as a lawyer and was first elected to the Senate of Virginia in 2011; the 7th district includes the cities of Galax and Martinsville, Henry and Patrick counties, part of the city of Danville, and parts of five other Southside Virginia counties.
