Bean is the incumbent, having held the seat since at least his 2024 victory in the district. LaShonda Holloway, the Democratic opponent who won her party's Aug. 18 primary with 29,772 votes, defeating Michael Kirwan by about 13,963 votes, faced Bean in the general election.
The district covers Jacksonville, Orange Park, Fleming Island, Green Cove Springs and Fernandina Beach, according to the office of Rep. Aaron Bean. Jacksonville is its largest city, per the same source.
Cook Political Report rated the seat Likely Republican heading into Election Day, while both Sabato's Crystal Ball and Inside Elections rated it Solid Republican.
