The Winner

Rep. Rick Crawford (R-AR) won the Arkansas's 1st U.S. House District general election on Nov. 3, keeping the seat in Republican hands.

The Race

Crawford faced two opponents on the general election ballot: Terri Yarbrough Green, the Democratic candidate, and Steve Parsons, the Libertarian candidate. Crawford ran as the incumbent, having held the seat before the 2026 election.

Cook Political Report and Inside Elections each rated the race "Solid Republican" heading into Election Day.

The district stretches across a wide swath of Arkansas, covering communities including Jonesboro, Forrest City, West Memphis, Paragould, Batesville, Mountain Home, Harrison, Stuttgart, and many others, according to the Office of U.S. Congressman Rick Crawford. Jonesboro is the district's largest city.

What's Next

Crawford is set to take office on Jan. 3, 2027, according to the Office of the House Historian. Crawford has said he will continue fighting for farmers, with stated priorities including restoring Food for Peace to focus on U.S.-grown commodities, expanding the Gus Schumacher Nutrition Incentive Program, and creating an Agricultural Trade Enforcement Task Force, according to U.S. Congressman Rick Crawford in remarks published by his office on March 4.
